Introducing our newest Up Next artist, XG.
“We've grown our bond strongly, just like a family,” XG member Juria tells Apple Music of the dynamic between the seven young members of the girl group, which also includes Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey. While all the members of the septet are Japanese, the group is based in South Korea and came up through the K-pop training system.
XG (short for Xtraordinary Girls) debuted in March 2022 with the addictive percussive whispers of English-language rap track “Tippy Toes” before making further waves with “SHOOTING STAR,” “LEFT RIGHT,” and “GRL GVNG.” They’ve already collaborated with established artists such as Rico Nasty, Jackson Wang, and Ciara. They made their US performance debut in 2023 at Head in the Clouds New York, a little more than a year after their initial explosion onto the global music scene.

Absolutely! XG conducts training sessions both in Japan and Korea. Consequently, there is a dedicated headquarters in Japan where XG can rest and rehearse privately. Notably, XGALX operates as a subsidiary of AVEX, with AVEX serving as the parent company based in Japan.

これもまたセルフプロデュース力なんだろうな。自分たちの魅力を深く自覚しててコントロール力も高い。Coco氏が言ってた通り個々の個性を尊重していて、個々の強さがそのままチームワークに昇華できてるのがXGの魅力。ストリートからインスパイアされてるってのも等身大で良いよね。他のアイドルより音楽愛も強い気がする。もっともっと成長していくんだろうなぁ楽しみ過ぎる。

I love their friendship, unlike other groups who more like co members. they've been trained together for such a long time & some of them are real friends like Harvey & Jurin, Cocona & Maya even before debut

Yes, I like groups that are more like family because the chemistry is genuine than with other groups which in general are strangers to each other so the impression is a bit awkward, maybe there are some groups when in front of the camera that pretend to be close friends even though actually behind the camera it's just not that close because of the demands of work, although not all of them are like that.

@@tajsimms8976 no, a lot of them have members come in at different times vs xg that started off as a group of 15 or so girls that underwent intense training, in which teamwork/collaboration was heavily emphasized, all together. It's why people who have gone to university together tend to be close friends - experiencing the same challenges, together, at the same time. In contrast, for a group like Red Velvet, Seulgi trained for 7 years, Irene trained for 5 years, Yeri started training when she was 11, so 4 years + 1 after RV debuted, Joy and Wendy maybe 2 years. It's a different dynamic and the members that have the best stage chemistry are probably Irene and Seulgi, who spent a long time in the same training environment together.

These girls got me in a chokehold. Idk why but they’re so magnetic. I’m usually a casual kpop listener but these girls made me stan them so hard. Lol. I just pre-ordered my album (X+G), ordered their keychains AND signed up for their alphaz membership app. Rooting for XG!!! 💗

Yeah man i was just casually listening to kpop and only ever stan bigbang but never dished out any money to buy anything because I never thought it was worth it. Then I found XG and before i knew it i already ordered everything they put out 😂 i swear these girl inserts subliminal messages in their content that got me soooo hooked lol

I actually left the kpop or music scene for a while after being a stan for years and now, I discovered them, I happily cane back and will do my best to support my girls. They are like no other. I love the part when jurin said it’s helped to have friends that always there to overcome hardships together. We know how they are just so close. It’s because they were trained together to debut in the same team, they were under a healthy training and selection process. So the girls are genuinely friends. They help and support each other for the past 5 years and counting. Some girls even know and be friends with each other before the training started, like 7, 8 years in total.

I really love xg fashion style. It's so unique.
