RuthAnn---one of the most appealing things about watching your videos is that you NEVER refer to "the kids" but always "the children". Hearing people talking about "having a kid" makes me always think of goats. People have children. Goats have kids. Thanks for respecting them by calling them, properly, children. It warms my heart.
@karennewberry4694
@karennewberry4694 Ай бұрын
So interesting you mention this kid terminology. I recall years ago reading that kids (goats/lambs) were used as sacrifices in biblical times but more recently satanic worship. The term kids was transposed from children as children are used as sacrifices in satanic worship. Sorry if this is too dark a reference but referring to kids to me is not a good term.

Children are precious to call them kids has always made it seem as a careless lazy term and as a parent if I want my children to always feel their preciousness and worth than as a parent I call them children 😊

It is such a treat to step into your home, and on your homestead with you and the family. I love what you do, how you do it, and that you take the time to share all of this with the rest of us. God Bless you and your family and that beautiful grand baby! I loved the comment, "I didn't see that coming!" The children are such a joy to watch; they do a GREAT job around the homestead helping out. Thank you again for opening your door and the homestead to us. Love you all!

I wasn't raised in an Amish/Mennonite culture, but as a child in the 50's, it was much the same. We had a garden and we canned out of it. It was a busy time of year but we made fun of it. As a woman in her 70's, we still do this. It is a good life. Loved spending the week with you.

Good morning! It was a nice, productive week on your farm and a lot was accomplished. Your cinnamon rolls looked delicious and seemed to be enjoyed. I am glad to hear that you are having a good peach crop in Iowa this year. In Illinois we usually get our peaches from Calhoun County, but this year they have suffered from that brutal, subzero period of cold in January and so there were no peach blossoms this spring. We were able to get some Missouri peaches for $17.00 a half bushel which I will be picking up next week, and am thankful to have them! Thanks for sharing your family life with us! It is always enjoyable.

Good Saturday morning to the Zimmerman family!! Structure is very much lacking in the American family today, and it makes all the difference in the world!! Your boys are a thousand percent boys, just the way God created them, and I enjoy seeing their participation on the homestead!! Hadassah will be a very good momma one day, and that was so sweet of her swinging the grandson! It would do Christians well, including myself, to remember that work was implemented before the fall! God's plan, not man's. Sunny is growing and seems a bit hardheaded, but I guess that's to be expected, but fitting in nicely. I'm I can't remember the two black and white cows' names. Blessings to your family ☺️

Love watching your videos. Although I was born and raised in a city, my parents made sure we had chores to do. I had my girls do chores, because that is what a family does, and I worked 12 hour shifts as an ICU NURSE, so they had to help with laundry and cooking. What distresses me is that their children do nothing to help. By teaching my girls to do chores, they are very efficient, unlike their in-laws children. Unfortunately, my children and grandchildren live in the US, while I live in France with my French husband. Watching your family brings tears to my eye, but I remember when they were young and we gardened together.
