Green bar is affected by Health Damage Yellow bar is affected by Armor Damage Purple bar is affected by Shield Damage when you build a choke point like your flamethrower corner spend more gold on leveling towers and less on buying a ton of them it'll help even out the damage as towers don't level up too fast. Love that you're playing this game, it's a fantastic tower defense title.

The blue bar is the shield. Not armor. The thing to focus on is definitely shields. It does take a lot of grinding to get the upgrades you want though. You really have to be lucky with each game when you only get a card every 3 levels, getting it to cards every level is very satisfying

The house gold is wave multiplied by towers around it. Also blue is shields. The three elements are keyed to a type, bleed for hp, fire for armor, poison for shield, and do less to their non keyed types.

Hands down my favorite KZfaqr right now. No matter what he makes there is nothing to worry about but just his weirdly calming voice and the game. It’s a nice getaway from a stressful time for all of us really. I’m just rambling now so thank you DF.

That big guy at the end has a lot of shield health which is the type of damage you upgraded the least

Zombie Oogie had a ton of shield health as you can tell from the blue health bar. - Green = Health - Grey = Armor - Blue = Shield - Black = damage taken

I think that spending way too much on armor damage resulted in a game over when health damage was just ignored by DF, also Oogie with lots of shield was unaffected by armor focused ballistas

once your dots are doing more damage per tick things will melt a lot faster. those shields are what took you down this time. it's pretty tricky to find exactly what you need during which waves. I can't wait to see more! I love this game!!

Have your Mortars focus on popping those shields - they do a great job because they have excellent range and an area attack. Have a few more set to hit enemies who have made the most progress just to help finish them off. Remember your DOTs - Poison, Burn and Bleed. You'll want to apply all of them ASAP. Ballistas (and Mortars) are perfect for that. Also remember that you HAVE to knock down shield first, then armor and finally health. Most enemies have either shield or armor, but not both, and all of them have health. Also, the Boss comes along the longest track that you haven't just built on, so it's a good idea to have a long path that has a lot of defenses just for the Boss to travel down. No matter how much health your tower has, it's an immediate game over if the Boss gets that far.

Ive never played the game so someone correct me if this thought is wrong, but i would assume that you want to focus on dealing armor/shield damage farther from your tower and moving towards stuff that focuses on health damage closer to the tower instead of just trying to bunch all your damage up in one spot.

Shielded enemies have blue, armored enemies have desert tan and regular health is green. By the time the enemies get close to your base they have their armor and shields stripped off. You kept upgrading your later turrets and flamethrowers to armor and shield damage when you should have upgraded their health damage as they no longer had shields or armor. Hope this helps!

the frost keep is what made that corner a choke point but you never added more keeps to get more choke points and be able to slow enemies down/do more damage.

Priorities matter. And I'm pretty sure there order matters aswel.. By that I mean you have to set mortar priority to focus units with the most armor. You can upgrade the shield dmg on balistas and others, and then have them prioritise shield units. Also, putting balistas next to EVERY house is about 33% of income..

The houses make money based on number of towers around it and wave, not tower levels. You need to manage tower priority. Dont buy 4 mana tower when you have no mana generation. Dont just level multiple stats on one tower, esch tower should target 1 health type. Blue is shield, yellow is armor, green is health.

poison tower early in the rout takes care of shields (closer to enemy spawn i mean) and try to upgrade more of the towers with the cards instead of getting new stuff, nice vid i liked it :)

If towers are set to prioritize a certain type of enemy (ie, shield, armor, max health), then they focus on that enemy and can level up that attack better. You aren't losing out on anything by doing this, either. To my understanding: A balista set to prioritize armor, then trailing, would look for armored enemies first. If none are in range, it goes for whoever's farthest back in their range. A balista set for armor then shield, will look for armored enemies, then shielded enemies, then prioritize whoever's in front. But generally you don't want all balista prioritized to just progress because then they don't level up because each of them is leveling equally and you easily get a lot of towers so none of them are really that effective

you might want certain towers targetting specific enemies. i usually target the morters at the slowest enemies, and scatter them over the map so those enemies are being chipped down before they reach the choke point. you did really well considering you haven't unlocked evrything though :)

The houses don't care about the level of your towers when paying out. Problem is that the game uses the word "level" for the wave number too. Basically, at the start of wave X, each house pays X gold for each tower they have as an immediate neighbour.

Someone tell him the "burn damage" is 25/second unupgraded and the number on the enemy only shows how much damage it will deal in total. So 1000 burndamage stacks actually take 40 seconds to do that damage.

You need to focus on getting rid of the purple bar (shield) first, then the yellow bar (armor) and then the green bar (health) last; as far as I know, you can't deal damage to all at once, so use towers that are effective against one specific type and put them in order

let me remind you on the basics of tower defence games. one very upgraded tower is noticebly better than a lot of weak ones. though you have to remember that the mana cost to run the towers also goes up with upgrades, but it is still very much worth it. in this game you can sell towers and get a full refund and the build prize goes down too, but the money spend on buying upgrades is lost when selling. and let me clear up the healthbar colors for you: green=health yellow=armor blue/grey=shield you were spending a lot of money on the wrong upgrades... and about the houses, they give you money based on the number of towers beside them times the wave your are fighting. so wave 20 would look something like this: 4towers x 20wave = 80gold. so just buils cheap ballistas around them and forget about them as they generate a slowly increasing passive income. i know i am basically telling you how to play, but seeing you make all those bad decisions is actually hard watch.

Should always surround your house with towers on the same level. They give gold per tower multiplied by the level of the wave. So yeah, to begin with they make very little, but later waves they make more than what you spent on the tower. Which means even more towers.

Quick tip: (idk if im late) the green bars are the health, the white ones are the armor, and the blue ones are the shield.

Houses give gold based on the wave number per tower adjacent to them. on wave 40 you'll get 40 gold per tower next to the house, it more than pays for itself

Tower defense games definitely are tough strat games, but maxxing out towers and spreading them out is your best bet. Having 3 grouped up with maxxed out stats on the health, shield, and armor stats would make a world of a difference if you try this again

Just read on Steam and it says "towers also get a bonus to damage based on their elevation" So your mortars will need the high ground

Put balisstas around all the houses in the begining. You will earn more money in the long run

It was a bit frustrating watching DF upgrading the weaknesses of towers instead of buffing their already significant strengths. If a tower has a 10x multiplier to armour damage, don't upgrade the health damage, upgrade the armour damage, because it costs the same, and increasing that multiplier is more valuable than spreading the strength. Certain towers are good for armour, some for health, some for shields, 'balancing' the towers isn't a great idea =P

the #1 problem he is having is not using his tower's priorities.. everything is on 'progress' which means they are only focusing on the mob at the edge of their line of fire, often all firing at once and massive overkilling the same target, wasting huge amounts of time and damage. and of course not knowing that shields are purple (even though it literally shows that when you click on any tower..) but for his first run, getting that far is very impressive.
