Since capsaicin isn't the only "spicy" molecule, you can actually be sensitive to some spicy foods but not others. I can eat Wasabi, spicy horseradish, and hot mustard with no problem, but Jalapeños and Tabasco are too much for me.

This was a great story with some great animation Tim! As a regular consumer of spicy foods, I can safely say I have evolved enough not to poo after every spicy meal. 🌶🔥🔥

I'd totally recommend to anyone to try spicy food at least with some meals, even if it's just a few dabs of hot sauce. The feeling of heat really opens your tastebuds up which makes food taste stronger, at least to me that is. When i order spicy food when I'm eating with friends, it's not to show off, it's because i think it tastes better. At nandos i always order extra hot because I've built up a tolerance and it's the only sauce that feels hot. Fun mini story, one of my friends is indian and she hosted a Christmas party in December for our group. She made drinks for everyone and included some more aromatic spices in there and i was able to guess every single one. She said "no offence, but i wouldn't expect a white person to get them all right"

My husband LOVES spicy food, and he swears his taste buds have pretty much become immune to all but the spiciest of peppers. He’ll make a cheese dip made with habanero and serrano peppers and eat a bite and be like, “hmm, there’s a slight warmth in my mouth.” And I try it and I have to drink milk to get my mouth to cool down. 😂
