We could've gotten a new Gwenpool ongoing, a full-fledged Kaine ongoing, and Ben Reilly's return to glory. But no, we're gettin this crap. Another uninspired Spider-person in 616 taking the spotlight of characters who got hard developmente and getting thrown to the sidelines. Marvel has also underpublicized the new Kaine/Chasm miniseries.

How did this Gwen got stuck in 616 ? 🤔 There was an issue in contest of chaos where Gwen and White Fox were pitted against each other by Agatha but nothing much was explained .I like the design of ghost spider a lot too and spider woman Jessica Drew and Julia Carpenter's versions with the black suit and one red suit . They kinda dropped the ball here on this page with the oversized legs 5:01 🤣

Oh no... Don't tell me... It's like a writing gimmick to give her a Good Superhero name? 😅 The Spider-Gwen name is not too good, but her costume is very nice. I like the "Ghost Spider" nickname... I didn't like the end of this issue... Someone had to save Spider-Gwen... 🤔 Definitely not ready to go on multiversal missions if Kraven could just poison her and stab her...

Super mixed feelings about this. On the negative, Peter lost Gwen twice thanks to a clone and it's harsh to pull in a Gwen carrying "his" mantle. I'm sick of mantle swaps and additions. Also, if she isn't supposed to be recognizable why the heck doesn't she get a costume alteration? Seriously though, if she doesn't hook up with Peter with a slow, developed romance then I'm not caring much about her story. A clone in essence if not fact. On the positive, she doesn't feel as mantle swap as MIles. I'd rather he got his own moniker and became his own hero. Actually, Spider-Gwen is ridiculous as a name but this is supposed to be positives. The art is nice. A bit lazy in the background department but shading makes up for it. Meh. This too much feels like they are prepping the character for Disney/Sony/MCU appearance, like it's a bit forced. It's just the first issue and it was okay enough that I'm curious where they're going so they succeeded on that count.
