i love how the symbiote is actually a direct reflection of repressed thoughts of their subconcious mind. It in a way makes them let those supressed feelings out. Its like id taking control. And people like mj or peter are the ones that are mostly led by their super ego, responsability and duty, while their id, their more primal and natural feelings are often suppressed, which leads them to have less control over it. Only when they made a bridge between their id and super ego, which is a genuine care of their interest (in mj's and peters case, their compassion) and will, they could get rid of the symbiote.

Let's also not forget how much trauma the symbiote causes for Peter afterwards. While under the symbiote's influence, he pushed away his friends and repeatedly did things that went against his entire philosophy of being Spider Man. He's coping with the fact that he failed to save Aunt May and Harry could also die and nearly killed Miles. And now, the symbiote's fully taken over his best friend, who's now causing mass destruction throughout the whole city. So by the time the fight against Scream hits, Peter can't even quip or fight back when Scream tries to psychologically torture him by using words it thinks MJ would say to him. He's at his lowest emotional point now and he just wants this whole mess to be over. All he can do is apologize over and over because after everything that's happened Peter is beginning to think that everything really could be his fault.

This whole fight was just couples/regular therapy. That is and isn't a joke. This fight made Peter realize he hadn't been treating Mary Jane as well as he should have and had taken her for granted. Meanwhile Mary Jane realized she had been trying to be someone she's not and it wasn't making her happy, which is why she began her own podcast at the end

The only thing I hate about this game is what they did to the voice actors and their faces. Mj looks soo much better in the first Spiderman, and it fits her. Same with Peter, he looks terrible now compared to the first game, which made him look way more authentic than this tom holland knock off.

I love this boss fight it's definitely in my top 3. This boss has meaning to it because MJ getting corrupted by the Symbiote and turning into Scream. Along with that the voice actors were going STUPID in this boss fight. So much emotion and the music fit pretty well.

@@doomguydemonkiller Nah, I absolutely loved the dialogue in that whole boss fight. Hearing Peter screaming at MJ to fight against the symbiote. Along with hearing MJ screaming back at Peter with pure hatred of always being there for him but she gets nothing back in return. That's the main reason why I love this whole boss because it's not just the gameplay that makes me feel emersed into the boss fight it's the dialogue and passion that you see the characters have during the fight. For example Raiden VS Armstrong in MGRR, Dante VS Vergil in Dmc3 and 5, Asura VS Chakravartin in Asura's Wrath, and Kratos VS Zeus in God of War 3. But that's just my opinion.

This game does pretty much everything Spider-Man 3 movie does but better. Evil Harry, venom symbiotes from space, mj resenting Peter. Her book is just like her play in that movie. or at least, 100% written by someone claiming to "know what women think". I've seen a lot of comments here saying this was amazing, but I found it cringey as all hell. This whole sequence was garbage. I'm not sure whats worse, Spiderman crying the whole time and apologizing for being a superhero, or mary Jane throwing out every female stereotype out there. Its like, no one forced her to be with that guy. He's doing everything he can to protect the world, if she doesn't want to be a part of that world, she can get the f out. The boss battle should've just amounted to "THIS, IS MY TIME, PETER!!!!!" And him going "I don't know what you've done to Mary Jane, but I'm going to STOP YOU! LET HER GO!" And then just fight. No bitchy comments from either side, just pure, desperate combat. Thhis gith makes Mary Jane look like a Whiny, selfish woman. And makes peter sound like a b*tch. They're a team, it didn't have to be any deeper than that.

Turning MJ into Scream was a BRILLIANT idea from Insomniac. And this whole couples therapy thing was cute but at the same time I think it's also... wasted potential? Like, the whole symbiote invasion thing in the 3rd act is at the very least worth a whole separate game and the things they could've done... MJ as Scream, there was so much space for Riot, Lasher, Agony, Toxin, others... and have Peter team up with Miles and others [Black Cat? Wraith? Mr Li?] to take on Harry/Venom and at the same time race against the clock so MJ won't be consumed by the Symbiote completely. So much potential wasted, just like that.

I kinda agree with what the other guy’s saying. Most of the other symbiotes you fight on the streets kinda look like phage, agony, lasher and riot as is. Now it would be a cool twist if they introduced Eddie Brock and instead of making him Venom, they made him Toxin. Maybe in DLC, who knows? But if we do get DLC, I hope Carnage is the main villain.

This is the best boss in the game. Scream as mj make so much sense and work’s better than mj being carnage not that it was bad I loved ultimate spider man and that mj is probably my favorite beside insomniac which is the best most healthy mj we seen relationship wise the way scream is a reflection of mj inner demons and pushes Peter down breaking him mentally is done perfectly the design for scream is the best we seen her she lasted perfectly and not overdone and I hope silence is a playable character next game or dlc so we can get the symbiote powers again and because mj and silence characters are good
