The game was definitely great there were massive improvements and the story was definitely 🔥. That being said some of those MJ sequences could have been shorter and some side missions were hit and miss. They also still need to patch some stuff in the game like a few glitches as well as matching the tendrils with the right suit. We also need more skins for Peter overall 9/10 for me.

great vid dunking on these clowns 🔥 only wish you’d shown off just how HUGE of a game changer the corner tether can be, using that multiple times in quick succession at high speeds (esp coming directly out of the wingsuit) to suddenly whip yourself thru a narrow opening to the side (like into the alleyways that break up blocks of buildings), immediately making a few zig zagging 90 degree turns and blasting back out into more open space without losing any of your original speed and momentum is just mind blowingly above and beyond anything you could do with the web traversal of the previous games.

The guy who said we wouldn’t be able to switch between Miles and Peter at anytime must feel like a 🤡 Honestly a lot of the takes are awful. Apparently Spider-Man 2 sucks because it doesn’t take 500 hours to complete and it didn’t remove the core foundation of the previous games in order for “innovation”. I saw in another post someone saying if Arkham City was released today it would get a lot of similar takes and I agree. I don’t know what’s happened since 2011, but it’s horrible lol.

From playing all these games and a lot of other games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 feels very fast. As someone who has played a lot of Web of Shadows recently, the momentum reminds me a lot of that game. Being able to swing shot yourself through the city at break neck speeds. Plus the classic black suit is peak!

Its so funny because in the amazing lucas live stream he was getting upset because he kept hitting the ground while swinging 😂

Honestly, I'll give Lucas half credit for his loop de loop argument because you can have enough speed for a loop de loop but you won't get it unless you dive beforehand. So if you glide down without pressing L3 and try to perform a loop de loop spiderman will let go like a normal swing.

I think it’s perfectly fair to judge what is shown as an advertisement to some extent. I mean you can only judge what you’ve experienced and with a trailer however you have to be cautious because you don’t know how much is really there speculating is fine and saying how you feel about what was shown is fine but stating things as fact when you dont have the full picture is stupid.

This video just makes me sad, yes spiderman 2 is a good, but undoubtedly its a sequel that plays it safe and with 5 years could've been so much more, and could've felt like a completely different game, people dont really get how good their games could be anymore, yea some of these people are just making arguments in bad faith, but some of these people actually just wanted more from this game, and that shouldn't be grounds to discourage them (for example the dude talking about web of shadows, its true that game was wayyy more physics based and let you do way more then sm2 even if it didn't have the same flash animations) this games still automated, for the sake of making the player feel cool regardless of skill level, its a game design philosophy that is grounded in what makes the most money, making a daring innovative completely brand new web swinging system with a crazy high skill cieling that you cant just pick up and master by holding one button? Or just making a game that does everything for you and lets you sit back in aww at how cool you are? Obviously the one that doesn't innovate on a pre existing system that has already shown to farm money and appeases the masses, why waste the time if it doesn't make money right? Thats the philosophy these games have, yea they're cool games, but they could've been so much more if they took that chance to put time into an overhaul of the system, they almost did with the automated setting, massive step in the right direction, but cmon, that setting should've been in Mile's Morales, not a chance it took them 5 years to add fall damage and change a few values that let you actually hit the ground Just disappointing to see the community reacting to even just the suggestion of innovation with hate and even confusion on why you'd even wanna make something better when it's already good enough

I kinda agree with Lucas on that point he made about the Wall Kick animation being exclusive to the Symbiote Suit. The move's brutality fits the Symbiote more than if regular Pete or Miles does it probably because having the Symbiote on sets a precedent that the character's under the influence of an external force that's why they wouldn't hold back as much

I think Spider-Man 2 is a solid 9.3/10. It’s everything I wanted it to be but of course it’s not perfect and some of the points I cut is because it’s missing features from its predecessors. Also wished there was more black cat rather than 1 chase. I could go into detail tho if u want

The symbiote suit is basically a cosmetic in the game, it's treated like one, because you can't change it during gameplay like in WOS, you literally have to go into the suit menu. On top of that, you can use the abilities on any suit you want, so what's the point?

I have some issues with the game like the MJ section, I never cared for those even in the previous game, and Miles’ high school missions are some the most boring missions in the game to me unfortunately, they’re definitely going to be annoying on repeated play throughs But the game is fun overall definitely a step up from the previous 2 games, I’d give it an 8/10 Edit: After beating the game and letting the hype die down I’ve realized I don’t care for the story in this game and the dialogue can be meh if not outright cringey a lot of the time which again is a shame, I much prefer the story of the first game So I’m going to bump my initial score down slightly to a 7.5/10 Also this doesn’t affect my rating of the game but the double standard that Insomniac/Sony has for certain things (like COMPLETELY removing the lgbt dialogue/flags in Middle Eastern versions of the game) is so blatant it hurts

6:10 is a fair criticism and your rebuttal doesn’t have anything to do with what he’s talking about. It doesn’t matter if there’s other segments to the boss fight. He’s saying that simply moving your analog side to side isn’t very engaging gameplay wise, which is fair. I personally didn’t mind, but I found myself pushing my web shooter trigger during those sequences before realizing that there’s nothing more to them, which left me kinda like “Oh, I guess I don’t have to do anything”

Personally my main gripe woth Spiderman PS4, and somewhat Miles Morales was that the swinging was slower than I wanted it to be. And that I would've appreciated more tricks, and better co trol if possible. I haven't played Spiderman 2 PS5, mostly because I don't have a ps5. But it seems like they've cured the issues of the speed and control I mentioned. Tricks, though, still seem more or less the same, with the addition of the rubiks cube one for Peter. Idk, I wish there was just like some sort of Web swinging mode that was just built for casually having g fun across the city. But aside from that, they really upped the anti with everything in this game when it came to web swinging, faster, a bit more expressive, more options like with the arms and symbiote boosts as well as web wings. I think it's overall a great thing they've done, and just can't wait to see what they do with the next game.

Only grips I have about this game is not having any replay ability option wether it be the side missions or the main missions after you complete the story at launch as well as being able to use the black symbiote as I know narratively he doesn’t have that suit anymore but that shouldn’t matter when they’ve made both the black and symbiote suits still wearable after you completed the story since it’s cosmetics. Might as well have an option to still change it back to the black color or add customizable colors for the tendrils.

Having patience as a virtue sure does wonders for people.

I only wish they'd of made it so you could run while holding your web, or even better, I wish Peter and Mile's would curl their legs up when they get that low and would drag their hand on the ground like they do in certain scenes in games or movies. My other complaint would be that I wish you could slingshot in mid air kinda like SM2 on Playstation 2. They're small things but they're great things. Also the interactivity when it came to doing car chases feels like it was a bit dumbed down but that's whatever honestly.

Also speaking about the swing system not being new they added the ability to add charge jump to your d pad giving tons of new ways to use it during swinging to gain altitude and increase your own speed

There’s a difference between how a game looks and how a game feels so many people get caught on how things look the same but when playing it it definitely does not feel the same it feels smoother more polished wayyyyyyy more intuitive and less repetitive

Sunset overdrive was really fun but the comparison is odd, in that game your constantly moving and enemies are pretty easy to cheese with throughout the game with the exception of the brute types and flying types which are just damage sponges while spider-man has you juggling enemies around trying to keep the combo up parrying and special abilities ontop of that
