I don’t know why, but I think in order to make no way homes ending really stick. Peter kinda actually needs to spend a movie all alone, we really need to show what he sacrificed. What's really worrisome is actually the rumor of Sony and Marvel having conflict because Marvel wants to return Spider-Man to a more ground street level setting and Sony wants another multi-verse movie because the last one made a billion dollars. Sony really has no idea what would work.

Everyone wants a grounded, street level, classic, more serious and adult story with DD and Kingpin. Where Peter feels on his own, as a grown man. Mobster characters like Tombstone. Prowler. Black Cat. Scorpion for good measure. Punisher. Some cameos. That’s it. That’s all we want. Give him an arch that works back in the importance of Peter Parker at the end.

I really hope we get another street level Spider-Man movie like Marvel was pitching. Mj and Ned better not come back with their memories in one movie though.

Bringing back Zendaya would be a horribly calculated misfire that completely undoes one of the best gut-punches from the entire trilogy, and ruin any trust with future emotional stakes. ...so of course Sony's gonna make that happen.

I definitely agree with what others have already said that it should be lower stakes than NWH and be more of a street level film. They could maybe have Scorpion as the main villain since we've still never gotten a proper resolution to the post credits scene of Homecoming

The funny thing about Joe Johnston is that 'The Nutcracker' is not even really his fault. He was brought on to do reshoots for Lasse Hallestrom, so he was working with a product that was already not in great shape.

It’s not just Spider-Man 4 we need to be great, Deadpool & Wolverine is another movie we also need to be great and succeed too, so we can be guaranteed an R-rated Blade.

I don’t think we’ll have any issue with quality- all of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies have been entertaining in some form. But i definitely think this fourth movie should be more of a solo adventure and less reliant on other heroes or… well other nostalgic versions of Spidey.

With how much of a money-maker Spider-Man is, it’s shocking how infrequently Spider-Man films are released.

The next Spider-Man film needs to be an actual solo film, so no supporting superheroes, no crossover cameos for other Marvel characters, and no plots involving aliens. It needs to be a real street level Spider-Man film like what we got with the Rami films. The story might need to take inspiration from the early Ultimate Spider-Man comics and I whoever they pick for the main villain. I hope it's Kingpin.

Sony wanting Tobey and Andrew to return for Spider-Man 4 sounds like a bad gimmick, similar to Marvel Studios considering making another Avengers film with the original team that included reviving RDJ’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. That and those gimmicks could be better saved for Avengers: Secret Wars.

I’m going to go the other way and say what I’d like to see in terms of plot. After No Way Home, Peter has lost his aunt, his friends (and everyone else) don’t know who he is anymore. He’d be struggling with loneliness, lack of support and adjusting to his new circumstances while living on his own. Enter Felicia Hardy, Black Cat. I think she’d be the perfect antagonist to match up with this Peter. She could be introduced as a potential love interest as Felicia and separately a villain in Black Cat, with them being revealed to be the same person midway through. This makes Peter struggle with doing the right thing in stopping her but subsequently losing his only real connection. Perhaps she could even try to persuade/corrupt him to be a bit more flexible with being a hero. She fits the theme of the story perfectly and her abilities interacting with Spidey’s would create some captivating action scenes. Don’t have any other Marvel characters to really focus on the dynamics between them.

I think Stahelski would be a great choice for Blade

with all the rumors of sony and marvel arguing and they’re trying to push the movie out into 2025 i’m kinda scared but i love tom holland and i’m excited to see him again

I think its also important to note that these newer F&F movies don’t have directors, they have people who are willing to be pushed around by Vin Diesel. I would not count any of these movies as being “his” I think he could absolutely do Spidey justice.

I had my own concerns about Lin directing Star Trek Beyond before it came out, but it turned out to be one of the best Star Trek films ever made. Now, I contribute a lot of that to Pegg's writing and love for the franchise, but Lin did a great job directing too.

Heres what Sony needs to do. They need to give up with their universe and hand all control back to Feige. Just focus on Spiderverse and Insomniac because thats what they'er best at. Heres what I would like to see Marvel do. Keep the next Spiderman grounded. If they have to do a crossover then bring in Daredevil. Thats all I want to see.

All I want is the movie to be grounded. I'd genuinely want the film to adapt the PS4 game over Peter fighting aliens or something. Keep him street level. Also, it would be nice if Gwen was introduced. She doesn't even need to be Spider-Woman/Ghost Spider.

It would be great an Edgar Wright Spider-Man movie. Wright have an unique style of directing that would fitvwell with Spider-Man and Scott Pilgrim proved that he unnderstand comic books. I know that it would ever happen since what happen with Ant-Man (which he wrote the first movie) but would be cool to see something like this.

An issue that I feel the Sony Spiderverse movies are creating is that they are burning through a lot of the potentially interesting villains - having Tom Holland's Spiderman go up against somebody like Kraven or Morbius would be really interesting (especially if the latter plays up the supernatural elements of the character) but I can't see it happening with the Kraven movie looking like a surefire box office disaster and Morbius already being so.

If there is a Spidey and Daredevil team-up, Chad Stahelski directing that would be crazy!!

I’d definitely prefer a more grounded Spider-Man that was made to be a drama instead of an action comedy. It should be about people and heart instead of spectacle and bad jokes.

I think a Spider-Man 4 with Holland seems exciting, but I think No Way Home felt like a great closure for the character. Sad, yes, now that he's all alone and have no one in his life no more but felt kinda conclusive. And a 4th movie with Tobey would be awesome, if done right. I personally would like to see another Spider-Man Reboot that takes place in the 60s and feel very Comic Booky like the Spider-verse films. I know the upcoming Fantastic Four movie might take place in that time period, but still, it would be amazing!

Since we're on the topic of rumors, some scoopers have said Feige "won" the battle of making it street level and back to Spidey's roots. Pointing out they're fumbling with their other Spider-Man related, but no Spider-Man involved characters.

Justin Lin seems like he's the top front runner, and honestly feels like he fits what they want. Pus with Marvel rumors of Fiege getting their way with a grounded/street level movie, rather than a another multiversal movie that Sony wants, seems to be the right direction. (Honestly, I can see David Leitch also do it, since he's the other half of the first John Wick film directors, with a solid action filmography, did a Marvel themed movie with Deadpool 2, A Fast and Furious movie with Hobbs and Shaw, and a successful Sony movie with Bullet Train. Surprised his name has been rumored since he dropped out of Jurassic World 4).

Would love a movie based on the crime world, we haven't seen that side of the character on the big screen yet. It makes perfect sense for him to get a new cast of supporting characters as he moves to college, could bring Gwen in as a love interest perhaps.

I'd honestly like to see Drew Goddard get a shot at this film. ahea already ties to the Daredevil Netflix series and also he's had previous experience working on the Sinister Six film.

Idk if it’s a stretch or not But I think Marvel should get some of the writers from Insomniac. Regardless of how you feel about the pacing of the games I think the writing is so good. The First Spiderman game on PS4 may be up there as one of my favorite versions of all time. The more human moments in those games are better than anything in the MCU Spiderman movies

Just going off the rumors, I’m worried that Sony will just want to make NWH 2 and give another bit multiverse movie. Which would feel incredibly cheap and unearned and shows a huge misunderstanding of why NWH was so successful. You can’t just piggy back on something that big and expect it to have the same impact. Starting back at a more grounded spidey story, like homecoming did and building back up to a huge event is the only way this would work.

We really need a street level Spider-Man again. It's what made those Raimi movies great, and they came up with a great setup to do that with the end of No Way Home. I'm not sure if they are doing multiversal stuff in the Avengers movies like they initially planned with Jonathan Majors, but those Avengers movies would be a good place to give Spidey a potential B-plot (and something to do) with multiverse stuff while keeping his mainline movies street level. They already established that not only Kingpin exists in that world, but that Matt Murdock is aware of Spider-Man...I'm really hoping they see that stuff through.

All I want is for Kingpin to be the main villain of the movie, with Kraven or Scorpion to be hired by him to kill Spider-Man and Daredevil. I want Kraven only because he was originally supposed to be the main villain of No Way Home before they settle for the multiverse movie. Or Scorpion because he could be created by the Kingpin to beat Spider-Man, similar to how JJ help fund for Scorpion's creation in the comics. Also add Black Cat as the love interest, as we never saw in any of the movies, well besides ASM2 but she wasn't Black Cat in the movie. Plus it could add to an interesting dynamic of someone loving Spider-Man and not Peter Parker, especially because no one knows who Peter is.

I just want to see: Spiderman in nyc, being spiderman. No other city, no outerspace. Maybe an x-men or daredevil cross over at the most. Show us more of him being smart. No zendia, no ned. Move into the next chapter of his life. The college years, introduce gwen stacy. Andrew Garfield's gwen was awesome. The police vs some other heroes and spiderman gets involved!! Start the kingpin stuff. Movie one, low level villian then daredevil and kingpin Movie two x-men and the morloks (really this is about the broader risevof powers and the need for responsibility with power, as peter is in uni and there can be parallels to xsftg) Movie three west coast avenger and alpha flight and sheild + sword. This is the big end swing and peter having to take a leaders posion with everything he's learned.

Spider-Man 4 is on a really slippery slope at the moment. On one hand you have ppl who want them to keep playing it safe and not make any improvements and on the other are people who want them to just make it “street level” as if that’s a guarantee that they’re gonna get Spider-Man right this time. It’s not. There’s a lot that goes into making a Spider-Man movie that feels like a true display of what SPIDER-MAN offers the film medium that you can’t encapsulate in “make it street level”. And unfortunately I don’t think Marvel or Sony is capable of understanding that. They’re both so determined to recapture the hype of their previous eras that they might not even consider the fact that what people actually want is a Spider-Man movie that feels PASSIONFUL. People are gonna keep demanding a “street level” Spider-Man movie and marvel will probably give them that, but it most likely still won’t result in anything that great. What Spider-Man needs is a director with real creative agency and knows how to tell an emotional story without compromising.

This reminds me of a quick idea/rant for Spiderman 4 villians Id definitely go devils reign and have movies like daredevil born again and echo to set it up in my little universe of kingpin assembling villians like shocker, boomerang, scorpion,beetle and black cat for an enforcer's team which sets up for the end of born again where he becomes mayor and dd teams up spidey to take down the enforcers but fails and barely stops beetle which leads to sm4 where everything climaxes and we have black cat betray the enforcers and set up Tombstone,hammerhead,silvermane and martin li to take over.

I would love to see a Spider-Man 4 and an Amazing Spider-Man 3 but for me we need to move on and focus on MCU Spider-Man. Have them both show up in Secret Wars or something similar but let us focus on Holland’s Spidey. We should see how he copes in college after having lost everything and everyone, challenge him with some menacing street level crime like Kingpin (Daredevil crossover maybe?) or Tombstone, finally pay of the set up for the Scorpion, introduce Black Cat (I can’t believe she hasn’t appeared in a single one of the Spider-Man films yet in the last 2 decades) with her tempting him to ignore his life as Peter entirely, let him be the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, oh and either introduce or significantly tease the black suit for the sequel as well

Jon Favreau is one those directors that would be good, but I would also like to see get out of the franchise system, and work only on indie films

I want a Spider-Man 4, & Amazing Spider-Man 3, just to give them some conclusion with the dud of 3 which is sad because Venom was the only gripe I had with 3, maybe a teamup with Sandman. A great actor on the villains part, he had that great line at the end, Venom's tone was weird. Amazing had great cast but wasn't sure with its tone, drop the hokeyness of Electro's character, the end could be a time jump, with Peter & MJ having been together for half a year, bickering about where to live together. As for Holland's Spider-Man, what about having Peter Jackson or Guillermo del Toro in the Director's chair. Chad Stahelski for Daredevil, fighting alongside Spider-Man & Blade on the Silver Screen, after one season on Disney +. A Man can dream.

When you first mentioned the John Wick director I thought it sounded silly. But then I started to imagine the feeling I got when I first saw those fight scenes in John Wick - just the feeling, mind you - and layered that onto a Spiderman flick in my head. Then I started to actually visualize a fight scene, and wow! You’re right. I think given the freedom and time to do it right, it could be incredible. Just imagine Spiderman using his webs in rapid fashion, targeting an enemy with a furious rapidity that we really haven’t scene, going from web blasters to using items in the environment almost faster than we can keep up, slowly wearing down his stamina while he pushes this behemoth of an enemy back (maybe Kraven?). And then, finally, he manages to secure the baddie to a surface and the audience takes a breath. Then, without cutting away or changing perspective, we see the baddie swiftly cut himself free and unleash a slow, heavy, powerful, and deliberate barrage against the web head, who’s already worn out, pushing our hero back, gaining ground (literally and figuratively) while Spidey furiously tries to deflect every massive hit. Slowly at first, almost painful to watch, we see Spiderman miss every once in a while, and the blows he suffers this time REALLY take a toll. He’s tired. He wasn’t prepared for this. He’s doubting himself. And we see his confidence drain with each terrible blow. The baddie isn’t quick, he isn’t lightening fast, he embodies the saying, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” It’s a marked departure from the quick-paced flurry we just saw Spiderman dish out, but no less engrossing to watch, as each hit hammers home with a purpose, betraying the true nature of this fearsome foe: his cunning. Seeing Spiderman filmed in a John Wick style could be truly amazing, if done properly.

Don't forget, Lin is the guy that brought us Community's magnum opus, Modern Warfare. Plus, while F9 was certainly a dud, I think that the Fast movies aren't exactly the best way to gauge a director's quality. F Gary Gray directed Straight Outta Compton right before Fate of the Furious.

Counting on Disney to insist on a good script before beginning plans for a new Spider-Man movie seems like an absolutely foolish notion. Disney is not an entertainment company, theyre a bank whi owns a bunch of entertainment companies. And they have no way to view a new Spider-Man movie has anything other than the only chance they've got at a billion dollar box office.
