Just had a moment to look at this comic from an out of story perspective. Peters at oscorp, worried about Norman osborne who was the green goblin, fixing old doc ock arms that were worn by doc ock while he was superior spiderman. Jonah jameson worried about said arms treating them like some sort of pet despite them being advanced ai after yelling at a newspaper. So far out from what spiderman stories used to be since all of them wanted him goe for so many years. Im actually enjoying it.Its cool seeing peter have their support and supporting them. I do wonder if Norman and peter will meet up with Kamala soon, since shes alive.

I haven't kept up in a while so three questions. 1. When did Norman become good? 2. When did Jameson find out that Peter is Spider-man? 3. Didn't Doc Ock have a new clone body and become a hero?

1) It turns out Norman sold out Harry's soul for success many years ago. His greatest sin. Peter redeemed both which made Norman's personality more human and in turn, Harry no longer trapped in hell for decades. 2) In an interview with Spider-Man Jameson broke down admitting he has nothing left since his wife died, his son is estranged, and he lost the Bugle. Peter revealed he's Spider-Man to him, saying he's not alone (Jameson initially recorded this but destroyed it. He and Peter are on good terms). 3) Long story short, Octavius went bad after a deal with Mephisto in order to take down The Great Mastermind. He became infuriated seeing the reformed Norman undo some of the stuff he did as Superior Spider-Man which made him turn full on evil. In summary, Marvel editorials love keeping Doc Ock evil after he has some redemption before dying.

What is it with Spider-Man writers and making deals with the devil? Its such a lazy way to recon things, and doesn't fit with Spider-Man's theming at all. Like if you HAVE to retcon Superior Spidey, at LEAST make it like, some sciency thing gone wrong or something.

It really is lazy, uninspired and meh. You have THE street level hero and you drag universal beings into it? It's like throwing Hulk at a shoplifter who is just doing it because he's starving and needs to bring back something to feed his kid. Just... eh. Terrible way to solve that problem.

I heckin love Spidey. And I really love this Norman redemption thing, it's doing wonders for an old character. Still sucks they merc'd Ms Marvel, but t least it did lead to SOME character growth/development with Norman, showing deeper signs of his change being unable to forget about her. I like that, shitty a situation as it is.

Tbh i think this would make for a great trilogy. Can totally see Tom Holland Spidey vs Doc Ock in movie 1, him becoming superior spiderman in the 2nd with a cliff hanger, and in the third spiderman gets his body back, uses Doc Ock's arms, and beats him Even through in Ms Marvel since she is casted (killing her off would be sad though)

I always hate that trope comics use. Make a deal with the devil to do something in exchange for your memories to be erased so we can conveniently reset the character because the value of those memories are somehow equivalent to a life or an entire timeline reset…

It annoys the hell out of me how much they undermined Black Cat's relationship with Spider-Man the entire time it was supposed to be active. Although now I realize what it was meant to be: Damage control. "Don't worry Peter found love after all crap. You never see her for more than a few pages because we're not actually interested in exploring this relationship, but she's there." Athough shout-outs to Spider-Verse Unlimited Infinity #37: The best story to come out of their time together, and it's not even a team up.

Before he gave Peter the body he had a back up of his memories in the robot the brain and eventually got a cloned body from Ben reily who's one of peters clones who at this point turned evil, anyway he gets his cloned body and becomes Superior Spider-Man again until he makes a deal with mephisto and loses his spider body and memories of being superior Spider-Man
