I've heard this one theory where Bruce Campbell plays a lot of roles in Spider-man movie is because he was supposed to be Mysterio in the fourth movie.....the plan was, he is spying on Peter Parker since the beginning

He makes as many appearances in the Raimi trilogy as much as the many times Hoffman comes out of nowhere when Jameson calls him.

The reason he played many roles in the films was due to the fact that he was preparing the audience for his portrayal as Mysterio. He would have been the main Villain in the Spiderman 4. Thus, the line "helps maintain the illusion" when Peter tried to walk through the Theatre. A very impressive detail of Sam Raimi!

Bruce Campbell is my favourite Spider-Man character. He’s the most important guy in every Raimi Spidey movie.

The French restaurant persona really sells the 'Mysterio in many roles' theory. In a few minutes, Bruce manages to insult Peter, gain his trust, change his mood, guide him into an idea that felt like his and become his best comrade in that restaurant. He even has his own 'stagehands' setting things up offscreen.

Is he mysterio or not? Sam Raimi: "I missed the part where thats my problem.

Peter: "I have to see this show, just let me in I'll stand in the..." Bruce: "I missed the part where that's my problem"

I really hope Bruce Campbell or Ted Raimi make an appearance in the upcoming Doctor Strange film or in Spider-Man No Way Home. Bruce Campbell had such an impact even as a side character,and as for Ted Raimi as Hoffman,I'm often left speechless at his portrayal. It's great.

I've NEVER forgotten the narrator from all three Spiderman games and I truly enjoyed listening to him throughout all titles WAAAY back in the day. But I'm now shocked that HE was the one who played all of these side characters, especially the waiter at the restaurant! I never knew! The guy's a true *Legend*. 😄

My favorite is his third cameo where he’s the nicest and most impressive with his passive French accent.

Bruce was, and still is, the best part of the Spider-Man movies. And had Spider-Man 3 not been so poorly received we would have seen him as Mysterio in the 4th movie. We was robbed I tells ya.

Bruce Campbell plays triplet brothers in the Raimi Spider-Man universe... 1 is an announcer for wrestling, 1 works as a Broadway theater usher & the 3rd is a Maitre'd at a French restaurant who uses the accent as part of the gig.

I love the Mysterio theory and it’s a crime we never got to see it unfold, but I can’t help feeling that the character would be a little too far fetched for this universe, as it’s on the whole very grounded (apart from sandman and venom)
