I straight up thought it was Hydro Man when watching this at the theater. And I had forgotten about Mysterio being just a masterful actor and illusionist so I was almost fooled to that this Mysterio could fly and shoot lasers that somehow stopped elements.

More or less, yeah. All of the "Elementals" were inspired by and modeled after existing Spider-Man villains. The Water Elemental was based on Hydro-Man, the Fire Elemental was based on Molten Man, the Earth Elemental was based on Sandman (who later featured in No Way Home) and the Air Elemental was based on Cyclone.

Whenever there is an impending danger, Peter senses it with his spider sense. But here he did not sense anything and became surprised at 2:41 because there was actually no danger but an illusion created by Quentin Beck. That is an extremely wonderful detail as the only danger Peter cannot sense is that of Venom's attacks due to the klyntar symbiote sharing his arachnoid DNA and here it shows that Peter did not sense it as there was no danger.

When Aunt May threw the banana he did not respond because banana is not a threat as we see in No Way Home even Andrew's Spidey did not react to a bread thrown at him by mj because it is not a threat.

Logically, some drones were underwater to generate powerful sonic pulses. Considering that some of the drones are flamethrowers, it is likely that some drones were equipped with water (Notice that Peter Parker is wet from being punched by the water elemental)

@@darthponds390 the drones are capable of causing real damage, not just mere illusions. Peter getting wet is a mixture of them propelling water towards him and their blasts, which simulate real damage, affecting the water in the canal, and thus sending, very real water, towards Peter.

Peter to mysterio: I have a lot of reponsibilities. *Then proceeds to instantly give up all responsibility by giving up a highly advanced weaponised glasses (that could kill probably thousands of people with drones that can fire bullets) to a guy he's known only for 2 days, that his beloved mentor/father figure Tony Stark gave to him (which was dumb of Tony in the first place to give it to a 16 year child), just so that he can go on a trip with his crush*

The illusions were projected by Mysterio’s drones, they have weaponry on them that’s capable of destroying bridges and buildings, while also propelling water around. This is literally something described in detail multiple times throughout the movie.

@@rulersonicboom4737 Pretty sure he meant that he already has a lot of responsibility and he thinks that he doesn't deserve to be the next Tony Stark and carry his responsibility so he gives the glasses to someone he thinks is more capable than him. He simply trust Beck because he is again, just a kid. The only plot hole with the whole glasses thing for me is that it somehow did not recognize Quentin Beck, someone who has worked for Tony Stark and is definitely not from another planet
