Even in the comics, Tek Knight powers is barely shown and since he lacks any superpower instead of only relying on technology it actually made more sense in the show which is a lot more grounded. Not to mention that Tek Knight in the comics is an extreme sex deviant that will literally screw any object resembling a hole.

Yeah, they have Hughie cry at the end of the episode, then in episode 7 he's fine again and even has sex with no issues. It seriously trivialises what happened to him. Especially when we saw how long it followed and troubled Annie in the first season. It's just poor writing by a hack job writer whose ego has outgrown his need to put time, care and effort into the narrative and character development.

@@5-Volt Massively disagree. Because dealing with the loss of a loved one and getting personally violated are two completely traumatic experiences. SA victims who've lost a father in their life aren't miraculously immune to psychological damage because they've had to grieve and mourn over losing someone. If anything the loss of his father coupled what happened to him should culminate in a severely depressed mental state. Its another hurdle he would have to overcome and learn to live with. As its been presented now, it's been brushed over in an incredibly unrealistic and insensitive way. Basically ending with a "Well that was weird." If the writers didn't want to go in depth with the effects of being SA'd they should never have bothered to write it into the episode.

It was that he functionally died, he had to be confronted with his mother who abandoned him, he had to come to terms with accepting his death or essentially resurrect him with a problematic drug, witness him accidentally kill several innocent hospitalized people in an uncontrollable super-powered state mixed with amnesia, then have to personally youthanize him himself. I don't think the writers handled anything that happened to him in those episodes in a realistic way at all but people handle different kinds of trauma in different ways I guess.

Difference was, the comic version actually sent his sidekick away rather than do that to him and had sought therapy of his own volition

Y'all just hatin, they leaned completely into the absurdity and addressed the seriousness in an intense tone while moving the story forward. After filling season 4 full of abrupt changes with no proper introductions or even slight build up, episode 6 with its surprise ending and proper story telling was a welcomed surprise. Y'all are just day 1 fans with series fatigue. The show will never be good enough for y'all the "way it used to be". Lol

Where Batman is a criminal detective that works in the shadows, they had Tek Knight set up as a Supe propagandist that works in the spotlight. In Gen V he actually had depth, outside his degeneracy. He was both feared and reveared. In The Boys, he was nothing but a racist deviant killed off screen. Last episode was pathetic shock value trash.
