I've used mine as a 'permanent' install. One year going, outdoors, over a Canadian winter, all conditions. It's a SOLID product.

Taping to keep water out sounds smart. I've had metal poles split in the winter from water that got inside and froze.

I use 2 spiderbeam.poles 12m and a 12m mast for my small 40ft garden works a treat 👍👍

I've been looking at this pole for a while but put off pulling the pin on one due to the price. I've finally bought one however and glad I did. You have to actually handle one of these to see where the money goes. I already have a a decent 10m pole but the extra 2m will be useful and of course using both together will give even more antenna options👍

I've got one from nevada also made a full guying kit from their accessories to. It certainly is strong and I have hand made a holder out of webbing to find a good Backpack to attach it too. It weighs 7 pounds only so very light given size and strength.

Good info. Seems like a great choice. I'm looking for a support for a dual band roll up j pole, which would only be in use during special events. Price is very competitive vs poorer rated options too.

Yes they are good, but difficult to get down when the weather gets in, the compression system sticks John G4YDM

I'm surprised you haven't got the clamp kit with it. It will eventually start to slide inside itself, even with tape. Of course, you have it under tension so it may be OK. We used to use 40m verticals on ours and we only needed to guy in one place. They stayed up in some pretty high gales!

@@m6ceb I added the clamps after getting a friend help me undo the friction fit. It allowed me to back off on the friction fit. It's a really solid product, and I highly recommend them. I ordered a second one for more portable use, with the guy wire fitting. The clamps are just well sized hose clamps and wire shrink tubing.

Forgot to mention the kit also includes rubber stripping to protect the tube. The Germans thought of everything!

Thanks very much for taking the time to comment mate and hope your well 🙏 I have a video planned of my icom 4100 car install maybe next week 💯 and yes the spiderpole has been in place for ages now and been out in all weathers and absolutely fine. Well worth the money! Can't rate it highly enough 👍

Thats an amazing setup you have there. I've got a DX Commander mast to use a mast having moved to an end-fed like yourself. I've got a couple of sotabeam poles as well, but think i will try out a spiderbeam in the ocming months for mobile operation. DK5ONV has an awesome setup with his for /P operation.

Hopefully, I will put up the same antenna arrangement you have described here. Hopefully, I'll get the same performance. A quick question:..... do you have any ground radials?
