I regret not starting NG+ instantly after finishing the game. Because NG+ is pretty awful and wipes out 90% of your stats and collections, but it's a great opportunity to playthrough the opposite alignment (for me darkside). I'm so deep into min maxing that NG+ becomes less and less appealing to me. So Im really hoping they add in a NG++ with carried stats and harder difficulties.

@@Channel5Gaming I am/was not as far as you but, I had the same issue with restarting NG+ my first playthrough was at around 100 hours light side hunter... I just dont see the point of NG+ if you cant playthrough all the story missions again that unlock characters. So, I started a fresh play through going dark side no NG+. I though it would be a bummer, but, im about 40 hours in, and I just dont see me having as much fun if I dont get to the missions where new characters show up like captain america or the quest chains for hulk/scarlet witch. So, far I dont mind it at all starting completely over.

Wait really??? 😭 do you have any suggestions for an updated or better build?

Trying this now and still works. Although, I don't own the DLC so not sure if that makes a difference.

Firaxis still supports games made in the 2000s. Tbf there's not much to support as these are single player games but they tend to stay alive for a long time and have dedicated communities. If u ever heard of the civilization games or the xcom series then you might be happy to know each one of those games still has a dedicated community to this day. In short, they picked THE best studio to make this game.

Well marked is also a single target mod too. It's just more useful on AoE and Chain abilities. The question is always what resources are you giving up to apply marked. Let's say you add it to Deadpool's Pain Pinata. You lose a cardplay and 1 heroism. Although you added 1 marked to every enemy in the AoE, the damage wasn't high enough to validate it's use. Add it to Captain America's Shield Bounce. It Taunts and applies 1 weak, but costs 2 heroism. It's not as bad as Deadpool, but still not very good. Finally one of the best examples. Iron Man's Air Superiority. Yes, 4 heroism is expensive, but it hits every enemy in the field. There's also the fact that you can redraw to increase it's damage.

It doesn't refund the card play instantly. Killing a marked target refunds the cardplay. The important part of this build, is the fact you can only apply the MARK 2 on single target abilities, the AOE effect is added afterwards. So spidermans abilities are the only AOE's in the entire game that can have Mark 2 to all enemies. For example Captains shield bounce can only ever get Mark 1.

@@gamrage A much better example is Iron Man's Surgical Strike. For the cost of 2 Heroism (or 1, if he's played Leave It To Me), you can mark up to 12 enemies (although there probably won't be that many on the field, and getting 12 attacks on Surgical Strike usually requires Effort Maximizer). Or KO one enemy using 2 or more attacks to make the card play free and using the remaining attacks for marking. That's the big advantage of putting Mark 1 on Chain attacks instead of Area attacks.

Marked and knockback are the greatest abilities in the game.

I havn't covered my hunter. I wasn't sure if I should. But if people want my take on Hunter I could definitely do that. Problem is, I honestly don't have much experience with 90% of the hunter cards, nore do I care to theory craft with them. I came up with the most broken must have build early on, and havn't seen reason to change it since. But if people want to know the details of that build, I can cover hunter at the end of this series!

@Channel5Gaming I think it would be great to hear you talk about your approach and build. The Hunter is very flexible, so I wouldn't expect to get the same sort of analysis of their entire card set. Perhaps just a shorter spotlight video. Thank you for considering it.

Well you first need to unlock that ability via research. Otherwise, your allies will suffer damage if you knockback or shove an enemy into them. However, once you do unlock that perk, whenever you have a card with "knockback" or if you have shove unlocked, (also through research) simply knock or shove the enemy into your alley. They will basically pinball the enemy off of them for additional damage. If the target is KO'ed, and you have a mod for card draws on KO, you will get free draws for that KO.

Any character can become top tier with mods. 🤷‍♂️ Well except Deadpool, Wolverine, Captain America, and Scarlet Witch. Who are the worst characters in the game sadly.

@@LynxStarAuto I think Captain America is fairly good. Although the tank aspect becomes less useful the higher the difficulty you play on, you're always going to need one just for enemies with Frenzy, if nothing else. And in fairness, Cap's one of the best tanks in the game. But what makes him top tier (IMO) is that so many of his cards have card draw. Quick Punch and Brooklyn Handshake are particularly good since you still generate heroism playing them, and you can make Brooklyn Handshake Quick. Mostly, he's not drawing his own cards specifically, which makes him better for support, but since so much of his power revolves around him playing The Best Defence, he wants to draw his own cards a bit more than he actually does. And of course, The Best Defence can't get Free, but you only need to play it once every 2 turns so it's not that bad. I can't rate Cap as the best of the best, but he's pretty decent with the right setup. Cap's biggest problem is that his highest damage attack (Shield Charge) exhausts, and he doesn't have any other really high damage attacks. At higher difficulties, that means he mostly needs to peck enemies down with low to medium damage attacks rather than knock them down in one or two hits like the best heroes can.

Spidey is a sleepy. Early and midgame I was clearing ultimate 3 mission in 1 turn without any troubles. This is with just random un-upgraded cards and no mods. Late game using the build I showcased, he just smashes flat out. I do remember having a growing pain moment on him where I was struggling to "like him" as a hero. Something was off. This build completed that and he's now a top 5 hero for me.

I felt similarly to how you do in the beginning. That's why I pushed him into this Mark Target support instead. Now I find I get 100% value from him every mission, and his ability to blow up environmentals becomes a bonus after thought.

Was curious to know what you meant and googled it. Marked is supposed to refund a card on kill. People are saying it’s bugged now? So what does mark do now? Nothing!? If it’s a bug it’s up to the developers to fix it, not for me to delete all my videos which include mark target discussions.

​@Channel5Gaming What he means is that Spiderman web throw and up here no longer applies mark as an aoe, only to the main target.
