I remember seeing this scene in a theater, stoned, with my equally stoned buddy next to me. He was listening to that admiral's speech and just sighing with a look of frightened yet amused resignation on his face: "This could really happen and there wouldn't be a thing we could do about it." 36 years ago, and I remember that like it was yesterday.
