I’ve made a few piles over the years, something about having to shovel makes you tell your self I’m not going to do that again lol. Usually I would just pull the combine upto the pile and shovel it back into the head and run it through again.

I just brought a 7700 back to life in Northern Missouri this year. After sitting in a shed for 15+ years, I harvested 17 ac of soybeans. So rewarding.

@jvin248

Warming bushings up will make them more pliable, release more protective waxes formulated in them, and give less shock when using the machine. Ozone and UV cracking shorten bushing lifespan the most so covered storage out of season is good. Excessive heat on rubber like around the engine shortens rubber lifespan (I find especially engine vacuum hoses). Remember that most rubber parts (and tires) are made from tree sap collected in small quantities like maple syrup. Then it's cooked in molding machines around 350degF just like baking bread in the kitchen. There are synthetic rubber chemistries too, that perform somewhat differently for different applications.

Looks like the neighbor needs to plant straighter. We planted with a 4 row and combined with a 6 row for years. Great stories Jon
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It would help. Even when I took the 12 row head over there A lot of times I could only take six at a time. There isn't hardly any professional custom combiner that wouldn't come in and just simply take 12 rows and the field loss is the field loss from Bad planting it's not their fault. But I like to put a little more Pride in my work for a guy

@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754

I was working out of state at the time and my dad got stuck, him and my nephew used the neighbor's 8650 to pull it out. As they were pulling it backwards the rear of the combine went up in the air and my nephew in the tractor panicked and stopped the tractor and when Dad pushed in the clutch of the combine the rear of the combine came down on the quick hitch of the tractor. It buckled that rear hood on the old John Deere combines. So the green tank leaked back into the straw walkers. That engine is what is powering the 4430 right now

I got a wagon that way😆 store protein supplement in it. Dads got a hunk of T1-11 in it and some feed sacks wadded up in the holes. My uncle parked the truck last fall in front of the freestall sand pile and failed to close the door, about a 100 bushel mixed with sand🤦‍♂️

Mr Bill ! Wagon doors, once in a blue moon a guy forgets to shut one. Had a semi driver on this same farm forget to hook the lock on the hopper door. Started unloading with the grain cart, all of a sudden that door slides open...

Did that last year doing beans. The elevator man left the door open cuss we were talking when I was dumping and 99 out of 100 times that door won't stay open when you want it to but. At least it was dark and my wonder full wife felt sorry for me and also helped me clean it up. How could I be so lucky to have met her 41 years ago and still counting.
