One of directors of Luca actually admitted that there was a lot of discussion between the writers and artists about making Luca a gay allegory, but the idea was scrapped by executives who were anxious about potential lashback. But this same director released their own artwork of older versions of Luca and Alberto very much in a relationship. So while it may not be 100% cannon, there is A LOT of validity to the idea that Luca and Alberto are gay. Many of the writers, artists, and directors of Luca support it :)

It was popular, people loved it, Disney basically forced the creators to end it because it sent the wrong message. But then Disney+ added all these adult movies and shows from Hulu to their services. Like they are any better. It's a matter of what they "think" is acceptable and what is "actually" acceptable.

Ok, name another Italian song of that time period that could fit better then. Go on. They choose Città Vuota di Mina because it's iconic, nostalgic and sad. Technically speaking most of the songs are too recent for the time period they set the movie so I suppose they choose these songs because they are all the most famous and iconic Italian songs in the Italian discography. For example "Il gatto e la volpe" di Edoardo Bennato Is from 1977 Or "Fatti mandare dalla mamma" di Gianni Morandi Is from 1984

@@somethingsuperbland8829 Peanut Butter Falcon is really good, the main characters are two guys in their mid twenties helping eachother travel and escape their negative situations. One has down syndrome and is being kept in a nursing home, and the other is being hunted down by a rival fishing company. There's romance in the movie but not between those guys. Very similar to Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

Fun fact: Luca co-director and story lead Kenna Jean Harris share a number of new works on their instagram story, many of which feature the aforementioned characters kissing under an umbrella, holding hands, or simply having a less than platonic snuggle. Basically they are Gay I’m happy you guys liked the movie 😊

1:03 The reason why "Disney Presents" and " A Pixar Animation Studios film" are translated into Italian is because the film's director, Enrico Casarosa, is Italian himself, so he wanted to make his movie extremely Italian. But anyway, I actually liked Luca. Sure it's not one of Pixar's best movies, but it is cute and wholesome.

Porto Rosso looks like the twon from Porco Rosso only because they took inspiration from the same source. Porto Rosso is inspired by the towns in the Cinque Terre, Liguaria. Porto Rosso is a mix of Monte Rosso and Porto Venere, which (guess what?) are part of the same group of towns that inspired Porco Rosso. The connection you are making does not a exist, it’s simply a similarity in the setting.

Italian fan here: we actually loved the aesthetic Luca brought back in a while even thought so many movies portrays Italy as it still set in the 50s/60s and makes them set in sud Italy with the mafia theme (it kinda got tiring). But nonetheless Luca was actually a very welcomed movies as it reminded to many old people their own childhood to the fantastic beaches of Liguria, Puglia or even Riccione. A movie like this should’ve been come out in the cinemas it would’ve appreciated much more
