I cannot emphasize enough that the scene at 15:19 was a real scene in this movie. This was a genuine choice that a team of writers made. I watched this movie at 1 am on a whim and it took everything in me not to lose it laughing at that scene

Leo is actually a tuatara. Which makes a lot less sense, but that's what the movie says he is. Anyway, it's pretty wild how Adam Sandler made a better movie than Disney. It's a lot more wholesome and heartfelt than you'd expect. Also, the banter between Leo and Squirtle is golden.

I'm assuming it's because Leo never necessarily said that he was talking to all the kids. He told each kid he wasn't SUPPOSSED to talk and the kid's assumed they were the one special kid who can understand animals. It's still silly, but I guess it's understandable.

Most of the times it's a lie that doesn't even hurt characters, they literally can't come up with a conflict. This movie gives the EXACT same vibes and feeling as one of those 2nd/3rd grade chapter books we’d read that had talking animals (Mouse and the Motorcycle and Fantastic Mr. Fox and those kinds of books) AND the exact same vibes as an early 2000’s Dreamworks movie (like Bee Movie or Madagascar), and for some reason those two things mixed together just WORK for me. I loved this movie so much:) Leo taught each of the 5th graders a valuable life lesson and he also taught Disney a valuable life lesson too LOL
