I have noticed this years ago about David's videos: he is nothing without the people around him. They are the content, they're the entertainment, and David just posts it. He cannot make content without his friends because it's always at their expense. This is also the huge difference between him and MrBeast.

David's content has always been problematic. Always.

Here’s the thing at some point all of them could have stopped doing David’s Vlogs. But they didn’t because they all liked the fame, money, and everything that came with it. Is David innocent? No but David shouldn’t get all the blame of being a horrible person for his videos. These were all Adults choosing to do it to stay in the lime light.

He's "done with vlogs and over KZfaq" until he tries to rake in that amount of money doing anything else, and finds out that it's not going to happen. Like so many other successful KZfaqrs, he thinks he's outgrown it, and wants to move on, but his "talents" are minimal, and the A-list has no use for him. I'm sure he'll get a couple of hosting opportunities (or something similar) and show up on an episode of the Kardashians, and/or the D'amelio's show, and/or maybe red table talk, but his reception will be lukewarm at best (mainly because he's not funny, attractive, or skilled in any marketable ways, and while his fame does extend beyond KZfaq, it doesn't extend very FAR beyond the platform...) He would have had to branch out in 2013/2014 in order to find any real mainstream success. The fans who made him famous have mostly outgrown him, and his friendships with influencers can only take him so far... especially once you realize how old he is... 2yrs, MAX, he'll be trying to reinvent himself on KZfaq. In the meantime, he'll try to score other things, but this platform will still be the thing paying his bills. Mark my words.

I think what happened is he tried to make some great comeback after Covid and getting cancelled but everything was bubbling up (and Jeff got hurt) and blow after blow knocked him back. To be fair this was all stuff that should’ve happened long ago, it’s a miracle nobody got majorly hurt or cancelled for so long. This one of the few times someone has really gotten cancelled and it “shut down” (at least outwardly) their platform. Now if only we could do that to a certain ADMITTED predator🧐 Edit: I watched the vlogs back in the day cause they were on my recommended but by no means was I a super fan so if I missed any major scandals that’s probably why😅

It’s not really a surprise. Months ago on his podcast David talked about how he felt like he had done everything he set out to do with his vlogs and his KZfaq channel and he just didn’t feel like it was anything he wanted to continue. He may have not made a formal announcement but he definitely spoke about where he was at with the future of the vlog squad

Yes David did say he was quitting the vlogs. Kind of. Basically back in December Illya and Jason confronted David on the podcast that he should quit vlogging altogether as they said it wasn't something that would be sustainable in the long run (in his case) as his audience is growing up and will move on. They said he should quit and focus on his businesses and things he is actually interested in. David acted shocked but agreed and said he would compromise with them and so he agreed to phase the vlogs out. But then a few months later the one-two punch happened: Jeff's lawsuit and Casey Neistat' doc coming out the same and that was the week he stopped. He might just be waiting the doc out to see if it gets picked up.
