Can we be real? Eugene left YEARS ago, even way before Nedgate. I believe he stuck around to help his friends & company survive the whole thing, but he's been gone for so long. I'm glad all 3 of them are still friends though, since he was even in the trailer/announcement poking fun at himself.

I feel like I'm misremembering the video. Did they not say they're keeping their old content on KZfaq but will not be uploading much to it anymore? They learned from Watcher's mistakes and presented the change much better than they did but it generally seems like the same concept. Actually, iirc Watcher said their new content will be on KZfaq, just much later. Try Guys didn't even say there will be much new content on KZfaq anymore. Again, I could be misremembering.

this streaming service announcement from the try guys makes me realize how truly insane the watcher’s announcement was.. they were really going to remove all their content and stop posting any new content on YT & only on their streaming service.. how on earth did they think that would be received well?? tbh i’m so over streaming services so i did roll my eyes a bit at the try guys video but i certainly can appreciate the contrast between theirs & the watcher’s.

I faithfully followed another KZfaqr who posted once a week. Then turned to twice a month & said oh I would never make you guys pay for content -then went to Patreon. But stayed here too but only posts once a month. So I followed to Patreon with the promise of more content. Paying $5 dollars a month. And getting one video a month? And these guys are charging less than her for a streaming service fee? With more content ? The moral of the story is we as consumers are getting a lot more choices ,we just have to be aware of what is a money grab and what is content worth paying for. Bet Patreon is shaking in their boots as more creators are trying their own services. Good Luck 2nd Try ☘️👍🏻
@jenna7437
@jenna7437 23 күн бұрын
I had a similar experience with another content creator. The content creator I liked had a more sporadic schedule, but eventually got into the groove of posting once a week (for the most part). One day she removed all her videos from KZfaq and made an announcement that all her old and new content would be posted on her Patreon account. I subscribed for a bit, but $7.50 a month for 1-2 videos and private posts to her community wasn't worth it. Now, if you want access to all her videos the minimum payment is $10.50 a month. I understand that content creators want compensation for the work they're doing, but people are already struggling with the rising costs of everything. Plus, with so many content creators springing up, the field is overcrowded and people are exhausted with everyone trying to get their attention and money. She has over 200 supporters, so I guess it's working fine for her, but I couldn't justify the cost.

Eugene leaving was a long time coming tbh. And I think they've been planning this launch for a while now, bc unlike Watcher, they actually have an app developed so people aren't forced to only watch on their laptops, they have a variety of content already set to be streamed, and the people who are 'joining' the team have already been around for a while and have garnered support of the audience. I think them having been around for 8 years definitely plays a part, but the Try Guys have always seemed a bit more business savvy as well. They have a better idea of how to run a company, and it shows.

There has to be some sort of company advertising to these channels and convincing them to make a subscription service for a lot of money. Hopefully they’ve read the contracts so it doesn’t turn into a buzzfeed situation where they don’t own their own video or don’t get screwed over in general.

I think they'll be successful as they'll still be making money on KZfaq too. They're not like the watcher and being strictly behind a paywall, all shows and episodes (aside from exclusives) will still be attainable on KZfaq to the more casual audience while more devoted fan (which they do have a lot of) will be paying for the streaming service to get access quicker.

I was never a Try Guys fan, but I always thought the guys, in addition to being adorably cute, we’re very talented. Just the content was not my speed. Rethinking that now, but, regardless, this is how you make transitions. I see Eugene all over, social media, really fighting for rights and activism, so it’s not surprising that he is leaving. I have zero doubt that he will make appearances from time to time, but everything makes sense. And the way that they’re doing the subscription, seems like it’s gonna be a really good thing. I wish them all the best!

tbh I've not understood the backlash of subscription services. It will give them more creative freedom and both watcher and try guys were clearly heading in that direction. Idk how people find the subscription services to be shocking cause from day 1 I knew both of those channels would head into this direction

Nah eugene leaving doesn’t mean it’s over for try guys, keith and zach already there all the time and we all know eugene is absent from time to time but he’s still part of the try guys, but this time he’ll be complete gone from the channel and it’s okay, it’s sad but okay

no they're not, we've known for years that Eugene has been slowly phasing himself out because his passions lay elsewhere. Keith, Zach and the other staff have always been his biggest supporters. he tried to stay on for as long as he could.
