My friend is a piercing pro in New York and my dude keeps his needles in freezers for 30 minutes and then gets rid of them after Dude goes through 400 needles every week

My sister had the gun get stuck on he ear when she was younger. It was so painful she pucked and passed out. It took 30 mins to get it off and had to go to the hospital.

I had my ears pierced at Claire's in Europe. Bec it was cheap and my dad did not want to pay more. It was a very small store but they had a storage place in the back so I thought they would do it in the back. Nope, they pierced my ears in the middle of a small crowded shop (that really made me uncomfortable especially with my anxiety) and had a lot of troubles finding a good place to shoot the hole. It was my first time ever piercing anywhere but one of the holes were actually painfull. Luckily the earholes healed nicely so I had no infections or further problems with them. Just a very uncomfortable situation

Claire’s should stop making makeup cause in Canada anyways they had their makeup tested and it showed positive for cancer risks Edit: it wasn’t the powders btw it was all the liquid products (also I’m at 2:53 so if she goes over this then oops) Last edit: I’m at 5:51 now and when I got my ears pierced at Clairs and we asked to use my own earrings because we know I’m allergic and they said we *have* to use theirs. My ears turned purple and doubled in size that same night 💀

I used to work at Claire’s when I was in my teens, they do not clean there guns, an alcohol swab does not clean every part of the gun. I also had an issue with the gun not going all the way threw the ear. I later quit when I watched another employee pierce a baby’s ear and have to redo it because the earring went straight up into the lobe instead of the right way. The baby’s cry hurt my heart so bad, was also a mom and never wanted to pierce a baby. I later worked at a tattoo shop and learned how much cleaner it is to get a piercing there.

I got my ears pierced at Claire’s many years ago. My holes are completely off centered, one is in the middle of my lobe, the other is practically at the bottom. Thanks Claire’s, forever screwed.

Honestly the ingredients in makeup in general are bad. Talc is in A LOT of things and if you don't have sensitive skin you might not have any adverse effects. I encourage anyone to look into the ingredients more no matter how sensitive your skin is.

Tattoo shops are so much better for piercings I got my nose done at one and when I went to Clair's for my ears they ripped out and now my ears are scared down it. On my right ear scar started to reopen and got gross thankfully they stayed open so I don't have to get them redone

I got my ears pierced at claires and they're uneven and horrible. I went back and asked to get them repierced after them closing up, and they did it even more uneven.

I got my ears done with a gun in the usual place on the lobe when I was about 6, my right one’s perfectly nice and straight, but the woman doing my left ear was obviously slightly less experienced and gave me a wonky hole + a bit of a lump in my lobe due to what I can only guess is scar tissue. I also get scabs on it occasionally after I wear earrings. I think my experience perfectly sums up how using a gun for a piercing can really go either way very easily

Lol I had to get my ears pierced twice because I went to Claire's, they used a piercing gun. The second time I went I passed out onto the floor. I still don't know why lol, but I think it's because the gun changed the blood circulation in my ear when it pierced it or something like that. That's my experience for ya 🤷‍♀️

When you go to get your ears pierced don't go to a makeup shop or a chemist or anything like that, the best idea is to go to a proper ear piercing place where they have to take a 6 month training course just to pierce someones ears

It is no coincidence that the industry that mostly serves women is under-regulated. This is why women need to be in positions of power, because when it comes down to a decision of millions or billions of dollars, and a potential threat to millions of (mostly) women's lives, the rich man is going to take that 'calculated risk', and it won't be in favour of the consumers.

What a lot of people don't understand though is that in certain states, tattoo parlors and piercing shops must be separate by law. So, in certain states, people literally cannot go to a tattoo parlor to get their ears pierced.

I once got a nail polish from Ardene (Canadian Claire's type store) and it never dried even after several hours (over night). After that I knew never to buy makeup or any related item in that type of store. I am not surprised this happened. This is why I prefer paying more for good quality products.

I did have my ears pierced with a gun when I was 8 with no issues, but knowing what I do now I would never recommend using a gun on anyone else. Just recently had to get one of my lobes re-pierced and made sure I went to a tattoo/piercing shop. Much safer even if it cost a little more, it's worth it.

On Sunday went to the mall with my friend but my phone died, so I went to Claire’s to buy a charger it was 13 dollars and it took 16 minutes for it to be 4%. Like wtf 13 dollars for a charger that barely even works.

I had my ears pierced at Claire’s when I was 7. Of course it hurt but I’ve had no infections, complications and I’ve not worn earrings for months at a time and I can still get earrings in. I’m 19 now. Though after hearing all of this, it’s definitely not worth the risk. I’m very lucky to not have my ears fucked up.

I got an infection from Claire’s piercing...I changed to different metals and nothing helped, so I stopped wearing things and cleaned it constantly and still was infected. Also I NEVER saw them try to sterilize ANYTHING after that, and even saw someone get pierced after me and never saw them clean anything...

I had my ears pierced at Claire’s and they’re extremely uneven! It also means that my second and third piercings (pierced professionally) are now also uneven as piercing them evenly would make one side look closer to the first holes and emphasising them. It also sucks because when I wear hoops or dangly earrings one side hangs significantly lower than the other! Also what’s annoying is I have an slightly uneven jaw so my whole head slants to the left now 😂 DO NOT get your ears pierced here!

Gotta say, I got my earlobes done 3 times with a gun. Infected every time, and the holes weren’t straight. Round 4, finally got my earlobes done at my tattoo shop. The place was as sterile as an operating room, and I had no issues with my piercing finally. I believe my holes aren’t completely aligned due to scar tissue from my previous attempts, however. The Claire’s aftercare lotion is also terrible for treating fresh piercings. Got a cartilage piercing done at Claire’s also... it’s closed up now. I now know the difference between guns and needles, and to get piercings done at tattoo shops. I am having a bit of a time trying to get my mum to go to a shop, I think bc she’s not happy about having to go to one. But it’s way way way safer and more sterile than a gun; yeah it will cost more, but these people know what they’re doing. I wish there was better knowledge on the damage piercing guns do, since Claire’s and other mall stores continue to use them, and it’s a cheap place for a quick piercing. That’s my input on piercings and Claire’s...

I've got all four of my ear piercings there and all of them got infected and I know I'm not allergic to any types of metals. The first time I went, the infection got so bad the doctor said I would have to let it close, and it was super crooked. But then again I wasn't suprised because the lady looked v young. When my cousin got hers done it wasn't lined up, it was really crooked, and uneven. She had to get them disinfected and let them close.
