I have seen HAAS techs "pull out" the spindle on VMC and put it back in to inspect it and there is something to be said for a cartridge-style spindle. Even if you needed a tech to do the swap, the ability to yeet the old one out and yeet the new one in is going to save a lot of time for the shop and give them a good chance at staying afloat! Here's to Barry and snapping spindles ;-)

I love YAMAZEN forty years ago we bought an MV-80 They did more good to keep us in business I can't say enough to praise YAMAZEN. Even through moving our shop they were there see the machine on the truck off the truck installed and running never a bill unbelievable. My father made me sign the check for that machine. It was between Mattsura and Moriseki the people at mattsura said no matter what Mori does they were going to beat their price. I was young my father had no idea what we were buying but it cost a fortune. He never did business with the bank always cash. Boys at Mattsura were devastated to say the least I'm surprised they did not commit seppuku right there on the shop floor. I loved my Moriseki and YAMAZEN. Best service we ever got from any machine tool dealer.
@sheepman6291Ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The Yamazen salesman made a house visit, and personally ran through all the details when selling us the machine. My wife was more than impressed. I have talked with at least 10 different machine suppliers none of them even bothered to make a house visit let alone sell my wife on buying a machine. Brother machine tools are the fastest, and the most power efficient machines on the market. The power savings that can be had with a brother can add up to $5k a year with one shift. A possible $10k for a double shift. This is not including the time savings in making the part faster. A max 9.5kva power draw means you won't possibly flip a city breaker like the school did next door with their Haas VF2. Our city has problems. 2 5-axis U500 Brothers can be feed with one feeedio robot and still draw less power than a single HAAS.

I was in charge of a Mori-Seki FMS system, we were machining transmission bell and extension housings. I had an operator running one side of the line while I was doing some tool insert changes on the other. Well, I heard this God almighty GRRRRR noise, followed by a BANG, then silence. I ran around to see what happened and opening the door on machine A, I could see the tool was WAY deeper into the material than it should have been. I don't know HOW he did it, but the dude managed to an extension housing into the fixture backwards, got the hold down clamps to close, and the fixture to set up. The spindle spun up to cutting speed and pranged into the part at full rapid speed. Destroyed the spindle. And took MONTHS to get a new one shipped from Japan. The operator got bounced around a bit after that and was let go next available opportunity.

However I have built injection molds and have experience with hyper precision mechanical seals and many other features of mold making that you can not smash the metals together when disassembling and pressure of threads can create when any resistance is encountered. Cheers earth is flat. No elevation angles to stars can be measured from a curving line and earths surface if a sphere would curve.😊
