Lyrics:
I say my blessings all for you
I feel it fade from the inside
I open up to adore you but everything
Was just a crutch to preserve life
Serotonin like a loaded gun
I am a coward, you pull me up
Into a place where there's nothing that left for me
But insecurity
And if I lose myself
Blessed be, I could survive in these chemicals for you
A lonely fool above
Just out of reach
I could survive in these chemicals only for you
I say my blessings all for you
You say blessed be the fool who
Plucks out the eyes just to listen in frequency
It's just a crutch to ignore you
Serotonin like a loaded gun
I am a coward, you pull me up
Into a place where there's nothing that left for me
But insecurity
And if I lose myself
Blessed be, I could survive in these chemicals for you
A lonely fool above
Just out of reach
I could survive in these chemicals for you
Entombed to die
In catacombs of restless bones
Consumed alive
This is my home, I'm waiting here for you
I say these blessings all for you
Offer me
I have the heart of a coward
Offer me
I have the heart of a coward
So open up my sternum
The only constant is a crutch
The only blessing that I know
And if I lose myself
Blessed be, I could survive in these chemicals for you
A lonely fool above
Just out of reach
I could survive in these chemicals for you
Entombed to die
In catacombs of restless bones
Consumed alive
This is my home, I'm waiting here for you

I was a stay at home father and househusband for almost five years. I was daily ignored and told that I stayed there because it was what was best. I could love the woman who abused me emotionally and mentally. I remember thinking "I can do this because it must be right". This song embodies all of that for me. Everything ended in divorce. She had been lying about so many things for the near ten years we were together. I was finally tossed to the side, but I was set free, honestly. Now it's just me and my son.

Currently recovering from an almost 5-year long relationship that I broke off in November after realizing how abused and manipulated I was for so long. I ended up losing so much of myself in this person, and near the end of our relationship I fell into a spiral and almost self-harmed for the first time in many years. Spiritbox's music has saved me, in a way, and has also helped me come to terms with the fact that the person I thought was my soulmate was really no good for me. Here's to cutting off negative energy and "emotional vampires"!
@UrMomGoes2College

Wow, I thought I was the only one that just realized that after my 8 year relationship ended, I had lost myself, who I am...I don't even feel connected to my body at times I feel so lost. I can't connect with other people, yet if I try to I feel guilty for unfounded reasons. When I left her I left part of my soul with her and I need it back...or I need to restore myself.
@Anaphoraa
@Anaphoraa Ай бұрын
@@UrMomGoes2College I hope you find yourself again 🖤 I like who I am now more than the person I was before and during my relationship. The trauma taught me so much. It’s unfortunate that I had to be put through so much abuse to grow into the person I am today, but I find comfort in knowing I’m actively seeking positive change while my ex is still stuck being the same negative person he always was because he lacks the effort to be introspective. I feel you on not being able to connect with people; it was an issue I had before my relationship and has only been made more difficult due to trauma. I personally hope time, therapy, and making new memories will help me.

The song is amazing, and I can't stop listening to it. But the video is equally as magnificent. Look at the blue colors when she's singing and the focus is her. The red and orange when it's "him". The red couch in the blue room. The blue hallway with the red light in the doorway framing her. The red blood getting progressively more intense in the bath, which is blue and calm. Every single scene she has a chain attached to her ankles. It's the details that exist in the video that complements the details that the entire band put into their music. Every time I watch the video I see something new, and that's a delight.

I feel like a vassal state now, like even though she is gone, a quasi-foreign will, her's, the demon's still lives in me and acts itself out through my body. I struggle with autoimmunity, latent psychosis etc. I ended up disabled, although I had a great career prior. I hope death pays me a visit soon, about time. You guys are identifying with the worst things in life, really. You need to stop grieving about the past and make peace with yourselves. Every single song, there are people sharing their private lives no one cares about (like it and forget it in 3 seconds), identifying their I AM with who they were. It was a situation among a thousand of situations in life. You aren't healthy yet, because you felt the need to bring it up. You didn't heal. I'm not the bad things that happened in my life. I feel like it all happened in some other life that I left behind. I am healed. Even when I watch movies and videos with abusive parents, it literally never occurs to me that I had a life like that, I blocked all that shit from ever coming back. Writing about it I feel literally nothing. I learned from it and implemented it in my life. I'm a wonderful father and a husband, now. Stop mentioning it, let your true self forget it, heal and forgive yourself for holding onto it.

It fits so many mental disorders and broken controlling or co/dependent relationships. I've been in both and felt this kind of depression and anxiety to the point of Scary thoughts OCD not fun. This song definitely conveys all the emotions: darkness, hopelessness, loneliness, desperation, anger, loss of self, doubt, love and hate.

It is like these two bands strive for the top positions in art-metalcore. Hard to pick a favourite. I can't. I love each of both for other reasons. I know that Jinjer are well aware of Spiritbox, in a positive way and I am pretty sure both bands are as excited as we are, whatever comes next. There can never be enough good music. I like how they push the limits. And they do. With highest quality. Never thought that this kind of music could make it to the public this far - and am so pleasantly surprised.

@@imcrazedandconfused I absolutely agree with you! I have known Jinjer since their earliest garage days, when they performed in small local clubs and cafes in Gorlovka (I am Ukrainian and lived there in 2009-2011). And even then it was clear that they rise very, very high, but I could not even imagine that so! I only found out Spiritbox a couple of years ago when I discovered their song “Perennial” in the KZfaq recommendations (thanks to the song of the same name by Jinjer which was released at about the same time) - and for a long time fell in love with Spiritbox and have been watching them relentlessly ... Isaiah Hernandez Fading? Lol idk where tf you been but metal scene has been killin in and exploding with amazing bands the past decade, especially the past few years. Just cause it's not in the "mainstream" don't mean shit, it's bigger than ever now. Even lesser known bands are playing sold out shows, just look at Spite's tour.. almost every show has been sold out and them and the bands on there are barely huge.

†HΣ DΣV¡LS ЯΣJΣC† It’s not “mainstream” but too many people give a shit about what bands do in their personal lives like Cj from Lorna Shore and Tim from As I Lay Dying. That makes people stir further away from metal than they already did. Back to the mainstream thing. Metal was making a small comeback for a littler but in 2017-2019. It’s probably just my area but there’s no metalheads here. I’ve been to 3 different school and came across like 2 actual metalheads that aren’t my chemical romance cock suckers. The Idea of metal is most definitely fading. If you ask people what it is, their answers are ignorant and incorrect almost always. And then the elitists are their own puddle of toxicity that is destroying metal. Of course these are my opinions so no one has to agree, I’m just stating my observations of the community from my favorite genre.

I AM IN SHOCK. I heard the song this morning and was immediately in love - the melodies throughout are entrancing and haunting, and that breakdown hits like a truck. But this music video took the meaning of the song to a whole new level. I... I actually can't describe how visceral this video is. The film work by Versa is some of their best yet, and the storytelling was so fluent but UNEXPECTED, my jaw dropped when the breakdown hit. This has got to be my favorite music video of yours. @@MightBeCale Depression makes relationship very hard to be in balance. I don't really think it is abusive, I think the depressive part often is "pretending" the relationship, while the inner self feels paralyzed or dead. The antidepressant hints are obvious, though. You definitely don't have a child. That or you do, but you're one of those helicopter parents. In either case, the kid can sit up on its own, so it's totally legit for him/her to be down on the floor for awhile (and no, I'm not going to do the _"but youuuuu don't know how that baby identifies itself!"_ game; if you are reading this comment and that thought went through your head, I beg you to leap in front of a fast-moving 18-wheeler while screaming "WHAT TYPE OF AUTOMOBILE DO YOU IDENTIFY AS?!?"). More importantly it is actually _good_ for teh baybee since, as you can see in the video, it is learning how to balance sitting up without falling over. Also, it is playing with the hose that I'm pretty sure runs out of the house and into the garage, where it has been duct-taped around the tailpipe of an idling car, with the other end (obviously) likewise duct-taped around her husbands face. Which is yet one of many totally awesome little things you notice in this, and several other, Spiritbox videos. It upsets me that although I live just a handful of hours south of them, not only can they probably not find any venue to play at, but I also cannot drive across the border to see them live anyway. One of these days, Spiritbox; one of these days.
