Now that it's public I might as well explain for everyone who is curious about the reason why I decided to kill off Marc/GaoGaiKing in Splashout, I will explain as thoroughly as possible. Back in mid-2019, the victim had reached out to Emma and me and explained the situation to us. She told us that when she was 17, Marc (24 at the time) had been grooming her and manipulating her into doing distasteful things. In doing so he also cheated on one our best friends who was his girlfriend at the time. We were genuinely disgusted and immediately cut ties with him, which is why he was removed from the Discord server and almost all traces of him on my channel were erased. Although we wished for him to face the consequences of his actions, due to the wishes of the victim we did not go public with the information. However we were allowed to quietly notify some of our close friends who also learned of the situation. As a result of all of this, Splashout was put on hiatus until I could find a way to remove his character and move on. So in order to bring Splashout back, I decided that killing off the character was the only way to permanently remove him. My method of doing so was something that I did not want to do respectfully, as I felt like respect was not something he deserved. Which is why his death was more so played off as a joke and he burned because his actions were not deserving of going out as a hero. As for the letter, it contained contents which were referring to this situation. I wanted it to be as vague as possible because at the time I did not have her permission to make it public. Shortly after she saw the animation and decided to speak out about it and that's when I decided to just speak public about it now as well. I no longer wish to be affiliated with a groomer/manipulator/cheater and liar so I cut ALL ties with him. And for anyone curious of Splashout and asking if he's really killed of the show, the answer is YES, he's permanently removed and is NEVER coming back. I just find it hilarious how you went the extra mile in being disrespectful to Mark when taking his character off the show. Like some people just find replacements or try to rebuild everything from scratch but not you. You were out for blood my man and I can honestly respect you for that.

Honestly, after reading the pinned comment… I feel very conflicted. I mean, Marc seemed pretty funny and cool, and I loved his comedy. Up until I learned he was a groomer. Second, I get why Charles gave him the most disrespectful send off, but wouldn’t it have been better to reset the series, rewrite the story without Marc, and just start off with a clean slate? And if you take it the wrong way, I mean like the whole channel can act like Marc never existed on it.

Honestly, I don't blame you for feeling this way. Having to learn the truth about a person you considered a good friend at the time is a huge punch in the gut, because not only you feel this way but everyone else involved with him does too. I'm glad you didn't give up on the series tho because of it too

For those who are confused and can't read the pinned comment. The letter explained the entire situation that Charles explained in the pinned comment. It was a bit strange and out of context, but it makes sense for why things were made that way. I think this episode was mainly to get out of a bump in the road and things will hopefully go smoother from now on. I did enjoy it though!

As much of an advocate I am for people growing from their pasts, I'm really satisfied with how you killed off a you-know-what's fictional persona in your series. That scum doesn't deserve an ounce of respect here, and although I'm disappointed you had to draw him at all, I prefer this over not having the situation addressed at all, even if this was a bit vague. As soon as I noticed the fact the character in question didn't speak a line of dialogue in this animation, I could tell that what I had read was elsewhere was true.
