I mean, im pretty sure the splatoon 1 direct hinted at inklings and octolings being able to change colors, hair and gender at will. Not sure about species though

I love how Little Buddy is doinf somethinf appropriate for each special. Hopping around for Wavebreaker, falling from the sky during Ink Storm, trembling in fear of Reefslider. Truly the scrunkliest beast out there.

Technically no name yet in English, but we're just calling it with a rough translation of the Japanese now. If I was to give a title in English, I'd just call it Strum Und Drank but one word replaced with something marine that rhyme with it, because 1.) it was referenced in Japanese (hence Storm and Stress in our placeholder English), 2) it seems that's how Deep Cut song titles in English operates most of the time.
