Had my ITP splenectomy when I was 14 in 1980 and still here. I served in the Military for 4yrs, traveled overseas, played music for years on the road in smoky bars and partied like a drunken rock star. I’ve rarely been sick, eat what I want, etc. Was advised by my doc to start getting a Pneumovax shot every 5yrs about 20yrs ago when I hit 40, which is basically a super flu shot. Have lived a perfectly normal life with zero issues.

I had a laparascopic splenectomy for my itp because nothing else worked a few years ago. Can my ITP come back?
