Thanks for putting this video out. I've got synthetic line on my winch and I've been considering getting one of these. This cleared up a few questions I had.

Honestly, I've found that the duct tape just makes it harder. Left as rope strands, you can push it through very easily. No reason to loose a foot of rope, by cutting the taped portion off.

Particularly since the taper makes it stronger than a square cut. I mean he cut it, then cut it more, then tapered again. Nonsensical just burry the original taper.

Don’t taper it like that. Pull some strands out of the weave from a few inches back and trim them right at the weave. Go back and do it a bit further back. A couple three of those iterations and you’ll have a taper without loose ends.

I'll see if I can adjust the gain any. It was our first video on this camera so the settings have been adjusted since then
