Likely another reason Shredder wanted Splinter dead. He unjustly accused Splinter of “taking Tang Shen from him”, but Shen was NEVER Shredder’s. Unless you count the brief time they dated. Now with Miwa choosing Splinter after discovering Shredder’s deceit, Shredder naturally blamed Splinter for turning her against him. Diego's beloved wife Esperanza is Tang Shen and their baby daughter Elena is Miwa. Don Rafael Montero, the corrupt governor of California, had Esperanza unintentionally murdered and took her and Diego de la Vega's daughter Elena to raise her as his own. A feud all cause of a woman. But the entire time Splinter was trying so hard to not fight. Splinter aimed to be the voice of reason. Shredder didn't want to listen. jealousy is a virus that takes control and makes people blind. Shredder really blocked his mind to not allow Splinter to try to talk some sense to him. jealousy turned to pure Hatred. TMNT is a crazy series but this show put it out in the open and made it very serious if you pay close attention compared to the old 80s cartoon even if their some comedy. But watching these two fight it's very serious. The contrast between when the Turtles fight Shredder compared to when Splinter fights Shredder. It shifts so much.
@muhammedcamara76703 ай бұрын
Their feud is my favorite part of the show. While I’m annoyed by how petty Shredder’s motivation was, I’m glad that he at least had a motivation that is somewhat relatable. Make no mistake, jealousy over a love interest doesn’t justify obsessively trying to commit fratricide. I like how serious their rivalry was and how much of the series was driven by it. Finally, I love how much of a foil they were to each other when it came to their war. Splinter learned to and succeeded in making a new life for himself to overcome his grief. Shredder used his thirst for vengeance as an unhealthy coping mechanism for his grief leading him to unnecessarily prolong their pointless feud. Simply put, Splinter managed to become more human than Shredder himself and even in death, Splinter was still superior to him in the moral spectrum. The creators have confirmed that Splinter reunited with Tang Shen in the afterlife, so who’s laughing now, Shredder?!

Splinter has no issue fighting with underhanded tactics because he’s a ninja and that’s what they did, and it’s perfectly fine for him to do that because he’s trying to defend his family. Meanwhile Shredder constantly loses due to his insistence on fighting fair and equally, not because he respects his enemies, but because his pride won’t let him accept anything less.

Simply put, every misfortune of Saki’s was attributed to Yoshi in some fashion and instead of taking it better, he chose a vengeful crusade. Finally, Saki already killed Yuta to avenge the death of his birth father Oroku Keiji.

Raph and Saki, both being temperamental, with problems related to their anger, in addition to having rivalry with their brothers, with the difference being that Saki let his anger and revolt dominate him. Leo and Splinter, the two being the opposite of their brothers, calm, thinking a lot about their family and very responsible. And finally, Karai and Tang Shen, who according to Splinter, is just like her mother. But she also has a bit of a resemblance to Shredder, as both were also deceived about their real family and followed a path of revenge, but she discovered the truth and freed herself from his control.

Bro, that was actually the whole point of his Character. the 2012 incarnation of him Was always about him being obsessive with Defeating Splinter & wiping out the rest of the Hamatos. There is a video on KZfaq, Talking about this matter, It explains the 2012 Shredder's story in a much better way.

You’re not wrong. Lol! While Shredder remains my favorite villain and 2nd favorite character in this series, I do have 3 critiques against him. 1. Petty motivations for his villainy 2. Intense victim mentality 3. Narrow minded obsession with vengeance

I like how this show makes it incredibly clear Splinter is a much more skilled fighter than Shredder. Shredder only ever beats him when hes distracted or weakened, from behind, or through raw power as the Super Shredder. Splinter fighting Shredder in the Season 1 finale is one of my favorite fight scenes in the whole show.
@greenrockgirl5150Ай бұрын
I think they are equal as fighters, but Shredder insists on fighting “fair” because in his mind that’s the only way to truly prove himself over Splinter. Splinter is much more of a ninja because he doesn’t care about fighting in ways that are unpredictable and give him a bigger advantage.

Very VERY clear Spinter was always the better fighter. Shredder could only win with cheap tactics. (Ie Super mutation and attacking when splinter wasn't aware.) One on one shredder was no match.

You know Splinter is a better master martial artist when Shredder had to rely on mutation to gain the upper hand. And even then, he still has to rely on underhanded tricks to win.

Their fights are similar to Optimus and Megatron's from Transformers Prime. Heck, Shredder even looks similar to Megatron and his voice actor voiced Bulkhead.
