I'm not putting a thumbs down on this video, as I cannot find many examples of independent filmographers showing examples of this with their personal gear on KZfaq. However, as a constructive point of criticism, I could see some individuals being upset that this split diopter optical effect doesn't preserve your focus clarity in the farfield compared to the foreground object. The curtains are more in focus than your face in this shot.

@@altruisticdiscovery I appreciate your feedback. Sometimes it is tough to get the focus right when one is trying to do this alone. Typically, I'd be behind the camera operating it and pulling focus after blocking a scene, setting talent marks, and then marking corresponding points on the follow focus.

HyperSplitz. I was thinking of trying to score a +2 diopter, but I wasn't sure I could do it accurately, and considering how many times I'd screw it up, I just went and bought one. www.hypersplitz.com/
