Rags722 hell of a car. Been dying to find one in decent condition that doesn’t break the bank. My buddy’s got a 70 with a 454 in it. I ended up getting impatient and picked up a challenger hellcat til I find the right one to build out.

@@jayrich1988 69's were unique in a couple of ways. They were the only year that had the big squared off brake lights. Also, they came from the factory with factory mags AND raised white letter tires. Other cars had come with mags, other cars had come with RWL tires, but the 69 Chevelle was the first car to come from the factory with both to the best of my knowledge. I believe they were also the first 396 SS Chevelle to come with good brakes on all 4 wheels. Let my buddy drive mine and he almost planted us through the windshield on his first stop. He was used to his 68.

Rags722 yes always preferred the 69’s over the other years. You sir know your stuff! I’m envious that I wasn’t able to grow up during that era being only 31 but always had a love for the older muscle cars. Sure don’t make them like they used to. I’m happy to see some of these car companies trying to bring back the muscle car era tho. That’s why I grabbed what I grabbed. Has that old flair to it with the modern amenities.

@@jayrich1988 I was in the military and overseas for 3 of my 4 years. Got home in Sept 68 and knew I HAD TO HAVE a 69 SS Camero on order. Went right to the Chevy dealer, and promptly found out I didn't fit in a Camero so I plopped down all the cash I had on a all blue 396 Chevelle, then had to wait for it to come in. Think it was about $3,200.00 at the time. I had to wait for it to be built 325 hp 4 speed, no air, manual windows. The 69's were supposed to come with a clock in the dash, but the real early ones got a "Chevelle" filler where the clock should be. Never knew if it was an assembly line screw up or if they didn't have the clocks for the early cars. Loved that sucker.

Rags722 ah shit thank you for your service. Vietnam? I know exactly what you mean with fitting in them which is exactly why I wanted to get something full size to accommodate. I’m 6’2” about 300LBS but muscled up so i have trouble finding things wide enough to fit in. I didn’t know that about the fillers tho! Love stories like that. Hell most of the time I’m riding with the windows down and listening to the music coming from under the hood. To think you can add another zero to that price tag now if you want to find anything with some original parts that’ll still go down the road.

FACTS. This place is going to be legendary! Oval racing, oval drifting, figure 8 racing, figure 8 drifting, demo derby's, burnout contests and whatever else Cleetus and friends can imagine. And there's drag racing literally right next to them! Maybe eventually Cleetus buys that too and merges it all together?!?!

"Cleetus McFarland" doing what he's been doing up until buying the Freedom Factory. "Freedom Factory Backstage Pass" where he keeps us apprised of all the updates and maintenance and changes that go on 'behind the scenes', and "Freedom Factory" which would be all the things that happen at the Factory, all the drifting and racing and screwing around and shenanigans and fun that goes on .. so that one may sit and ONLY watch the 'events' or ONLY watch the backstage pass, or ONLY watch Cleetus build cars ... Sorry for a long post.

And his style of filming is unique, and works very well. Love the unusual camera angles.

Those 1.6L NA motors were originally meant to have a turbo on them, but this one does seem extra special.

Mine doesn't have a turbo but it has over 380000 kilometers and I track mine pretty regularly and the lifters dont even make noise. Maybe every mazda engine is a freak engine lol
