I guess this was a bittersweet ending. She proved her innocence but she doesn't trust the couple anymore and left her job anyways.

I doubt, the maid even knew the safe combination. The fact that she brought the money to them when she found it, should have been a strong indication that it wasn't her who took it, in the first place. If they had fingerprinted the safe, they wouldn't have found hers. And the fact that there would have been several other's prints on it, would be proof that she hadn't wiped the safe for prints. She didn't want to work for them, anymore. And I can't blame her. They automatically accused her, and never even thought to question their son; who incidentally, did know the safe's combination. She should have also audio recorded his actions. That would be proof, and grounds for a major lawsuit. Worth millions.
