I'm just chilling, sipping my cup of coffee enjoying my afternoon and scrolling through KZfaq. I love SpongeBob ever since I was a kid. I clicked the video and was absolutely taken back to my childhood. 8am on a Saturday morning, running to the TV faster than my older sister so that who ever got there first got to pick the first show. Jumping onto the couch with the remote and selecting SpongeBob. Hearing that outro music brought back the great memories of simpler times, innocent times, ignorant if the woes of the world, the biggest worry was getting that TV remote first. Also that ending clip almost made me do a spit take with my coffee. Well played

@@AAA-pt7ix It's a 6 string banjo, still a banjo. 6 string banjos used to be much more common before the electric guitar was invented. Genres that used 5 string banjos with the drone string have used banjos into the modern day so that's what's more familiar while a 6 string banjo used to be much more common in the Victorian era on until the electric guitar took its role in most genres. 6 string banjos and acoustic guitars sound so differently that they would be grouped into different sections of a band back when both were used regularly

A lot of people are saying this isn't a banjo because it has 6 strings, it's still a banjo. 6 string banjos were commonly used until the electric guitar was invented. A 6 string banjo is significantly louder and has a very different sound from an acoustic guitar, acoustic guitars would often be grouped into rhythm sections while a 6 string banjo would play lead and melody lines. They were popular in Jazz for a while until 4 string tenor banjos took hold because many players didn't like the muddy sound that the low strings on a 6 string banjo has. 5 string banjos we are more familiar with today also have a long history, but we only are more familiar with them today because the genres that use 5 string banjos with a drone string have continued to use the 5 string banjo to this day.
