In this video, I review every rank from Gold to Grand Champ to highlight 3 mistakes holding them back from ranking up.

👋If you’re new to my channel, my name is Luke. I'm a peak Grand Champ 3 Rocket League coach. I’m also the founder and CEO at GrandChampBootcamp.com. It’s a coaching company.

I don't want to take cheap brand partnerships or sell you a $50 course... although I'm sure I could make more money if I did either of those things (and there's nothing wrong with people who go that route).

How I got here…
🔹12 yrs old: Started uploading minecraft videos at / @luke23mc
🔹16 yrs old: Switched to uploading Fortnite videos on this channel. You can go to my uploads sort oldest to newest to see all of my old Fortnite videos
🔹18 yrs old: Switched from Fortnite to Rocket League videos during Covid. I also began coaching players 1-on-1 on / spookluke
🔹19 yrs old: Rocket League went free to play and my channel blew up. To keep up with the demand for coaching, started the Grand Champ Roadmap --a rocket league course business
🔹20 yrs old: Developed company and continued to scale course business. Eventually, I dropped out of school to pursue KZfaq and the company full-time.
🔹21 yrs old: Switched from selling courses to coaching only. Released all courses for free on www.skool.com/gcb-free/about. Transformed GCR into GCB. Doubled coaching duration, cut price in half. Seeing results improve and students happier was worth making less money.
🔹22 yrs old: @Virge joined as director of coaching to further improve the coaching experience and help us make more free Rocket league content that is accessible to everyone.
Today: Coaching is how we make our money - not youtube videos or courses.

Solo q in champ is rocket league hell. Basically it’s “watch your teammate overcommit as first man and defend a 2v1” simulator

These are super helpful. At Plat 2 I find it aggravating that many people seem to have gotten there with little understanding of rotations, but I find myself also making some of the mistakes described here, such as going for air centered balls, they're too tempting! But abandoning 2nd man (in 2v2) or 3rd man is too risky and I have to stop myself from doing that until someone rotates.

When I see someone flying around like a pro in plat, I soon realize why they are still in plat with me... They suck bad a the basics, just focusing on aerials lol

@Noxi29_RL damn :( ... and the above comment supports this, fml. On the flip side tho, had a couple of tm8s yesterday that rotated beautifully. It feels like a very different game when you don't have to worry about getting triple committed, lol.

@@nikospurr307 how does one even get to diamond with no basics? I've still haven't decided what annoys me more, bad rotations or ball chasers... I can't count how many times ive had an open net with a clear shot only to have a tm8 take away possession, pass it to the other team and let them score... Just wow. But somehow I suck it up.

I play 3s with my lower rank buddies , and I keep my 2s for my "actual" rank , I feel bad bc my rotation in 2s are terrible , esp now I play more casualy Tham I used to, needless to say , I dnt play 2s often bc iam normaly with my buddies , currently peaking at plat2 , last couple weeks go bak and forth plat1-2 when I solo que and dedicated to 2s , at one point I made it to plat2 d4... been down hill ever since

I like your videos and ur channel is great but i know there is a minimum age for the gcr so i would recommend telling that to the viewers of ur video but besides that great channel and i think i and many other people can see ranked results in from ur videos great work keep it up

I like except for you last two GC tips. Given how slow the ball was going it was smart of him to be closer. If he had no chance then ya don't creep forward, but you have to be ready to go fast at this rank The last tip was a great challenge. It could have bounced for a great pass, but nonetheless, it puts you back on offense and them off offense, which is HUGE. Don't just let him take the ball? Especially as first like of defense

Its crazy how Im able to point out misstakes made by a GC1 but still I myself stay hardstuck in D3/C1, when I watch my own replays Im just baffled how many dumb choices I make that I know very well are stupid. Watching your own replay is a hack and a big reallity check.
