After two editions behind closed doors, finally the F1 Imola GP admitted the fans in the grandstands so I definetely couldn't miss the opportunity. On Friday with that bad weather I've been at Rivazza corner while on Saturday I decided to sit at the Acque Minerali. What do you think about the new cars? @@thepizzaelf no it doesn’t, its way more metallic and has more treble than the old one. I think its due to engine ajustments because of e10 fuel

@@tescopiwo the Mercedes engine has always had the highest pitch sound on the grid (aside from 2014), personally I think it's less noticeable this year, maybe that's just me I don't know, but it's certainly still the loudest

Huge and ugly overpriced cars. Since 1992 when I started watching F1 the only major step in the right direction made by the FIA/F1 was in 2009. Everything else was a downward spiral - grooved tires, super-aero, hybridization, etc etc. Who can forget the dick-noses? Luckily since 2012 Indycar is kinda back, even though their schedule sucks, but it's much better racing and much closer experience to the F1 we loved decades ago. For me it's THE "drivers' championship".

This comment is biggest crock of horeshit lol F1 was always about the car more than the drivers. You even bring up 1992, a year that was fucking dominated by how technically advanced the Williams was, which went on to be even more dominant in 93. It was so ahead of the competition that the FIA got involved to make severe reg changes to try and give everyone else a chance. "F1 we loved decades ago". Ah yeah, back when only McLaren and Williams and occasionally Ferrari were relevant and you had situations like 1988 where the McLaren was basically the only car still using turbo while everyone else started making the switch to NA, so of course it was absolutely dominant.

@@thepizzaelf oh yeah I know but I would rather have efficient engines, even if its just a tiny help especially considering all the development will eventually make its way into road cars. Sure the old engines sounded amazing, but they weren't designed to sound good, it was just an inevitability of the rules only allowing high revving N/A engines.
