Gambling ruins lives as much as drugs and crime, I know this much from following British media (some stories are horrendous). The US however is different in that gambling is still presented as a sport and a game of heart and luck, I find this appalling!! I feel strongly about this (I left a job in Istanbul coz the guy was starting to manufacture sports betting terminals!! )

If you just keep to it, you can also get rich gambling. Just remember, if you lose, keep betting more.

The percentage of people with the skills and attributes to become a long-term 30-year-plus professional gambler is so incredibly small, the majority of them are also successful in other endeavors, which gives a warped perception of their lifestyle. It's definitely not something that should be glorified. Billy is an interesting man, but this piece missed the mark.

Why are you promoting gambling? Even in sports betting, the house always wins.

Not always. Bill Walters is 100% proof of that. You have to win 53% plus or more on average. Far easier said than done but many have been profitable over many years. Books just don’t take your bets when you “beat the system”
