You don't think they are giving things to look after, things they missed the game before? Yikes lmao You literally said something that is known by everybody who follows the sport and in the sport is the most damming statement... Lolol The most damming statement is the NBA trying to say this guy never fixed a game, when in reality, everyone knows the fix was in. Tim Donaghy could have been a blessing in disguise for the NBA. But the league missed the opportunity to clean up the culture. The fact that Donaghy was shown to be totally above board in his cooperation with both the league and the FBI in the investigation means that he pointed the way to widespread problems like referees allowing their personal regard for certain players to influence their officiating and how the loose-lipped way of dealing with inside information fed the gambling beast, including those in organized crime. But the NBA's attitude was "Donaghy was an embarrassment, now he's gone, so let's get back to business as usual."
@alwillk

Very true. The fbi suspected other refs were involved and were going to use donaghy as an informant but stern went to the media to try and save what integrity the NBA had left.

there were fan theories that its because David Stern himself is manipulating matches for better fan viewership, etc etc.... and Tim donaghy might expose it, so the NBA never went with Tim and FBI on cleaning it up.
@cashandcarry72

The. FBI suspected other refs? They’re all doing it, because they’re being instructed to do so. The league didn’t miss an opportunity to clean up the culture, because they don’t want to clean it up. There’s too much money coming to the league in the form of gambling for them to want to clean it up. Sports are real, in that the players are the best of the best in the world, but the outcomes of the games are fabricated. If the masses realized this, the sports world would be ruined.

The NBA like all major sporting leagues are a business first, it's all rigged, the NBA knows full well what's going on, they are behind it lol Tom Brady's run in the NFL is a point of interest too. All that winning, deflate gate pushed under the rug, he changed to a super team at 40 and won the very first year....it's just good business, it pays to have the players that people love, actually playing (LeBron James constant finals runs) Refs have been impacting the game with the whistle for years, they're actually supposed to (balancing the fouls out, making up for missed/bad calls, managing game flow) "gotta beat them by 15 to win by 1" (said many of LeBron's opponents in game 7's)

His eye movement throughout is actually very indicative of telling the truth. Crazy. I began watching this thinking I was about to see a 60 minute Lance Armstrong type confessional... I knew college and professional sports were corrupt over 15 years ago. I didn't want to believe that something I enjoyed so much as a kid was collectively tainted, but when you start betting on these things, you realize exactly what's going on. Where there is money, there is bound to be corruption. The "missed" and "controversial" calls that happen every other game are not accidental. The refs do exactly what needs to be done to benefit the sportsbooks based on how much money has been bet on a certain side. If you're truly a world class official, you wouldn't make any mistakes, let alone during critical junctures that decide the point spread or over/under.

@@rustyshackle917 this is one of those cases where taking responsibility doesn't go hand in hand with being ashamed. And I can't really address the addiction issue because it doesn't seem like you are the type that believes in the power of addiction and that's understandable unless you're one yourself... It's a blessing to be able to not be affected by a life controlling addiction and I wish I could say the same. Have a great day.

@@Zenigundam So true... and I'd have to think that basketball has been one of those games where a ref could easily make a handful of calls without much notice simply due to the fact that they are so involved in every aspect of the game from fouls to mundane whistle blows hen someone talks back or steps out of bounds. I think the ability to challenge foulds should've been implemented 20 years ago.

The NFL and NBA are such crooked organizations. The only reason Tim Donaghy got caught is because he got sloppy. There is absolutely no doubt that the NBA still does it’s best to rig many games to obtain certain matchups or to extend a series so they can generate as much revenue as they can possibly get. It’s obvious, though, that sometimes it doesn’t work despite their obvious attempts simply because the team the NBA wants to lose is unexpectedly hot and makes a very high percentage of their jump shots which foils the efforts of the NBA to succeed in fixing that game. The NBA knows they must be as discreet as possible, so they can’t call fouls EVERY time, but just enough to slow any momentum gathered and deposit it to the team they need to win. But if that team is making many of their shots despite obvious favoritism towards the other team, there isn’t much the officials can do despite their attempts to fix the outcome.

Just looking at how long this video is, shows exactly why conventional TV, and by extension Cable and Satellite services, are failing. The show is on for an Hour, yet it's actually ONLY about 38 minutes. Which means over 35% of the show is useless commercials. Nobody wants to waste 35% of their time. It's just way WAY too greedy by these TV companies. A few commercials is fine but when it's more then a third of every show, it becomes extremely problematic. At least we got KZfaq, who as of now understands that limiting adds is extreme important.
