Why can everyone clearly indicate time and again that tax differences benefit many markets more than others; but, when we push back and claim the salary cap should be balanaced to consider taxes, suddenly it is a game of pretend that these marlets aren't advantaged?

After the players repaid the pandemic escrow, the cap is based on 50/50 HRR, so the cap is exactly where it would have been regardless. They cap would have crept up over the last couple of years, but would have ended up at the same spot for next years.

Oilers need to start strong, lock up home Ice whoever they play and fingers crossed stay healthy. bring kane in last minute (Las Vegas style!) just before the play offs for minimum cap impact. Then late in season trade for a "Pronger 07" type free agent defensive beast. I know... it's all easy to say!

'The era of bridge contracts is gone'. Mr. Stellack has some great views on how deals go. Signing Jurej was a good move from Canadians. Skipper is old school, and very cynical over young guys. If you wanna win in longer term, you need to take some risks too. Many trams are atm looking for fast wins.

While I can understand Gord Stellick's opinion as he isn't a diehard Bolts fan, but I knew coming in to last season that Stamkos would not be returning. Now that the salary cap has gone up, there will be owners spending like drunken sailors. The Bolts would have liked Stamkos back, but not at his price. Welcome to reality.

I think what my leafs are doing is waiting for the 2025-2026 season and just ride this year out.I think they won't trade Marner or Tavares but just let them walk and by doing that they can go after McDavid that wants to play in Toronto With him and Mathews being the top 2 center men in the league they will have the top 2 lines and they are bulking up on d men this year to get ready for it.

Tampa had no Defense this year.. Vasi was out for the first 20 games and the Sergi missed how many? He still put up 40 goals and 41 assists. he had a goal in every playoff game. it is mind boggling that they could find another 1 to 2 million..

@20:00 the dumbest things are said. 8 years one playoff round win the team is worse now offensively than they ever have been for the same amount of money. This is a team that couldn't score in the playoffs. This hold trend idea that somehow doing the same thing for a 10th season in a row is going to make it better is like smashing yourself in the face with a hammer trying to get smarter

It's all well amd good saying that the leafs need a goalie, but up until this F/A season, they haven't had a blue line to help a goalie out. Yes sammy was crap, yes woll is injury prone, yes we lost say a year and a bit with Murray, yes Campbell was a bit better than sammy. But really over the past few years our blue line has exposed those goalies. Amd as for not being able to score in play-offs, we'll when our offence have to play defence the majority of the games because our blue line have struggled, they were too buggered to score. Hopefully Treliving has put together a better blue line to shield our goalies this coming season, then our offensive lines can do what they do best and score

@regularjoe2325
@regularjoe2325 21 күн бұрын
To be honest, my honest opinion, there were different times where GM Brad Treliving could've improved the roster of the TML's, for example, he has the power to change the atmosphere in the room when it comes to making contract negotiations, decisions based on the player and his agent. We all know that the core 5 ain't clicking in the playoffs where it counts, quit wearing the skirt, take what genitalia you have, develop some steel ones and trade one or two of them, to alleviate some cap space so you have revenue generated to get back better players because you have the dollars 💸 to work with. I know for a fact there are better quality players who are worth less than what, say Tavares and Marner are making. Dubas or Dufas' problem was they paid them ( the core 5 )way too much at the beginning of their careers. Now they see one of them getting more, the other gets jealous, then it becomes more of a selfish, thinking of themselves, rather than working and earning it first. Win a Stanley Cup 🏆first, then talk contract negotiations for an extension. Let's get with the program. That's just my opinion.
