I’m an Oilers fan, and even with 4 number 1 picks in 10 years and a number 3 we can’t make the the playoffs, it’s so depressing, if we got Alexis Lafreniere, we still would’ve missed the playoffa

True, but we had to trade him for a shut down defenseman, but it wasn’t a very fair deal but we accepted because we were desperate af for defense at the time

Cooper Dykes The two things I see the Oilers needing is, better goaltending, and some form of veteran leadership to instill personal responsibility on a every game basis. To me, that second one is easiest accomplished by hiring Barry Trotz as your coach whenever you get the chance. You have top end scoring, you’re a bit weak on depth and a bit weak on defense, but both are serviceable if everyone on the team is personally responsible defensively, and drives the play positively more often than not by taking care of the puck. The goalies are also serviceable if you had better team responsibility, but I still think they’d be better off if they had a more solid veteran than Mike Smith to hopefully allow Koskinen to grow into a star. I saw it early in the year, when everyone was talking about how good the Oilers goalies were. At the time both Koskinen and Smith were like .910-.915 and I forget the goals against, but the point is that they were near identical numbers. That is usually characteristic of a team that is playing good team defense, but has only decent goaltending. I think both the goalies you have are capable of getting hot, and all teams rely on a mix of goaltending and team defense, but I don’t think you’re going to win many playoff series if you’re counting on needing to score at least 5 every night, or counting on the current goalies and defense to allow less than 4. I like watching the Oilers, I was disappointed they were out that quick. McDavid was unreal in the qualifiers. He was still the playoff leading scorer til near the end of the first round... Once the Oilers are capable of regularly winning 1-0 and 2-1 type games, they’ll be able to win a Cup if they still have that core when that happens.

@@justjohnny420 - yeah; game 2 as well, when they sat on an early 1-0 lead, fell down pretty much immediately, then fought back from a 2-goal defecit to tie it in the 3rd only to give up the winning goal right afterwards anyways. That was kind of where I figured they were in trouble effort-wise; but in fairness it's easy to focus on the _big_ chokejob when it happens, like it did in this series. I think that's why it frustrates me as a fan, they were _very much_ still in that series despite clearly not giving 100% effort; they could have stomped the Stars if they had, and yet here they are.

I'm surprised Dangle didn't mention this with the Montreal vs Flyers head-pat. The same thing happened in the Hurricanes vs Islanders series last year. Someone on the Islanders (I don't remember who and it's late so I don't want to look it up) scored a goal on I believe it was Mrazek and gave him a pat on the head. Then at the end of the series, Dougie Hamilton gave the Islanders player a pat on the head during the handshake line. I think it was even in a Dang-its video. So in the past two years, the two teams who gave the opposing goalie a pat on the head lost the series.

The hit on Gallagher is right up there on the series impacting hits. Niskanen should have been suspended for as long as Gally is out. 1 game suspension is a huge insult.

Finally somebody from Sportsnet talks about Brendan Gallagher's broken jaw! You guys have videos about KK getting a game misconduct, Nick Suzuki head Pat on Hart that hurts nobody, but yet you don't cover a broken jaw, Now that's a dang it!

Agreed again Steve, absolute disgraceful from Couturier and Niskanen both, classless. Love the vids as always

Canes fan here - the first thing I thought seeing us blow a 2-0 lead was “welp, we’re gonna be in a Dang-It’s video” 😔

For me, it was when Reimer left the net to try a poke check. Even asked myself, "Self, will Steve put James in a Dang-It video? He wouldn't do that to James." I was right, Producer Drew (who exists) put him in.

Wonder if Steve is liking the bolts a bit. They seem to be eliminating and Avenging Toronto a lot. Plus the colors are identical.

Thanks so much for your videos! I do have a request could you please adjust your camera 6" higher? I'm not sure why but watching you talk hurts my neck. I wish I were joking, but seriously thanks for the hard work.
