Jack gave us so many good memories in Buffalo. I think it's time on both ends to go separate ways. Hope he gets his surgery and recovers fully, the league needs a healthy Eichel.

God, I wish it could have worked out with him in Buffalo. I really hope his surgery goes well and we finally get to see a fully healthy Jack Eichel on a team that’s actually competitive. I’m excited that we might also finally get playoff Eichel. Best of luck in Vegas Jack!

Now imagine him with Stone, Patches, Wild Bill, Marchy, Petro, and Panda holding the fort...Oh my god if even half of that comes back to Vegas after the surgery, this is gonna be a fun guy to watch. I wish him all the best on my favorite team, I will be buying his jersey Boom or Bust, I am so glad he's free to get healthy, find his mind again, and play the game he knows and Loves. He is going to make everyone associated with the Sabres, both fans and employees alike, realize how big of a mistake it was getting rid of him. As a lifelong Sabres fan, I am not looking forward to this day. He is absolutely going to be the league MVP in his first full year in Vegas. I’ve never been more confident of anything else. Anyone who doesn’t think this is a possibility is either a bitter Sabres fan or has never watched this kid actually play. If he was on a team with any actual talent or leadership, he already would’ve been the league MVP multiple times in his career.

@@zalac153 he doesn’t get to decide. The team that pays him decides. NHL contracts are guaranteed. If a player requires surgery, the team decides which doctor will do it, because if the surgery isn’t successful, the team still pays the player (that’s what a guaranteed contract means). Likely, Vegas has held talks with Eichel and his reps and they agreed on a doctor and a procedure. Eichel still doesn’t get to decide / dictate who and what will happen with the surgery. 👍

@@s.p.8508 “Buffalo got fleeced” is an exaggeration. Buffalo did well in this trade, under the circumstances. Vegas paid a hefty price for a guy who may or may not play this season, who may or may not recover fully from surgery, who may or may not be the same player if he does recover. Plus, Eichel’s contract will prove to be an anchor for the next few years. Speaking of which, how far above the salary cap is Vegas right now? Big gamble for Vegas. They didn’t do as well as you think, not even close.

Yeah terrible trade. Dont even get a 50 point player back lmao, krebs barely put up 50 points in the whl ffs. Meanwhile eichel has the ability to be a franchise player and score 50 goals and 100 points. Its make zero sense, unless eichel himself asked for it.

@@codymachado Eichel’s current value - with his injury etc - isn’t that much. He would obviously have been worth a lot more if he were healthy, but that isn’t the case. Plus, the injury and proposed treatment is a mystery, which complicates things and brings Eichel’s values even further down. I personally think this trade will blow up in Vegas’ face, but we’ll have to wait and see.

What needs to happen is, they need to erase every trace of this guy ever playing here. What a colossal embarrassment and huge mistake this all was... and for NOTHING. They literally tarnished the reputation and dignity of the franchise by losing on purpose, then didn't even get the guy they wanted, then he proceeds to be miserable for almost a decade and is now leaving like he never wanted to be here and is alright if the place burned to the ground and everyone died. He will NEVER be back for any Alumni events or special franchise celebrations. You can Danny Briere me all day and I'll raise you one Chris Drury... that guy is a former captain who wouldn't even record a quick 15 second video for the Sabres 50th anniversary celebrations... he hates us and we hate him. Same damn thing will happen with this guy, i won't even say his name. Just an absolute waste. Generational forwards who can take control of the game only come around for a team once every 30 or so years... it's gonna be a long time before we have another opportunity like this. Just need to block out that it ever happened.

A lot actually. You know how many times I had to watch Sabres players miss wide open nets off of amazing passes by him? Too many. Got so bad we just started yelling for him to shoot instead of passing.
