You need a tig welder. Lot less mess and no slag. Bike looks good.

Man that’s awesome Work)! What kind of welder are you using? I don’t want to buy one that’s gonna be too weak. Looks like that one is pretty good. Thanks brother.

Sorry it took so long to respond. It' a Harbor Freight Flux-core machine that does not need gas. 170 Amps that uses 220V. I'm kind of cheap like that. www.harborfreight.com/170-amp-dc-240v-migflux-cored-welder-68885.html

I wish we had swap meets closer to me, I'm up near Pensacola.... Long ride to Daytona... I never hear of any around here.

@@JoeBobsGarage I live about an hour or so inland from Daytona . The swap meet during bike week is awesome. And there is one in Webster florida once a month unless covid has shut it down. Other than that I do not know of any out your way

Great job. I wish I had this video available when I was building my chopper... my first real, from scratch build. Now I'm doing a bobber and I like what you did here. Since my frame is a 100 % complete '57 Panhead frame, I plan on doing the whole bobber build WITHOUT doing any welds or cuts to the frame. I will be collecting stock parts, and if I live long enough, plan on doing a "stock" build. But since no welds, that means I'll be making a bunch of bolt on brackets and parts, rather than weld on. Are you using gas with your mig welder? I'm not a very good welder, so I spend more time cleaning up my work than I do welding it. That bracket you have just behind the seat is going to be tough one for me. I'll have build some kind of sleeve for the cross bar or something. hmmm. Anyway, awesome camera work on the "how to" parts. Thanks for posting.

I forgot to tell you.. I use a Flux core and a tig 200 (240V rigs). No gas with Flux and 100% Argon with Tig.

I’ve always wanted to learn to weld but never have. Any advice for someone who wants to learn?

The way I started was a $125 Flux core welder from Harbor Freight, it does not need gas and can run on 110 volts. It can do most light jobs. Watch a bunch of KZfaq how-to videos and practice a lot. I'm learning as I'm going. I just moved up to a TIG welder and learning all over again. Just go for it!
