Great video, thanks. I’ve recently fitted exactly same cover to my 2018 Iron 883, looks fantastic but I’ve noticed that my boot rubs against forehead on skull causing some scuffing..... I’ve tried to clean off without success. I’m wondering if you have had same issue and if so, if you have any ideas how to remove the scuffing / avoid it at all?

I mutzed up one of my derby cover bolts using a t-25 torx. I learned the hard way that it's a t-27. That Willie G derby cover looks great!

Thanks, Torx bolts are easy to jack up. Still waiting on the seat back ordered hopefully it will show up sooner than later.

Looks sweet! Timer Cover next? Since you had the cover off, surprised you didn't change the gasket for $2 or check the clutch adjustment . Unless you recently adjusted the clutch and I didn't see it. Love your stuff as an 2013 Iron883 owner myself. The more "how to's" the better.

Thanks, gasket was in good shape. I keep them on hand just in case. I just did a 5000 mile service before winter so clutch is good to go. I am undecided on the timing cover Wille G or the new brass line up.

Hi Tony, did you take off the foot peg for installing this or can be done without removing it?

I had forwards controls on my iron. If you have mids you do have to remove the peg mount.

Unfortunately I traded the iron in on 2018 softail slim. But the install is very very easy if you get the plug and play version from DK customs or Harley Davidson. It plugs right under your seat using the stock wiring harness.

Great video Tony, I tried to replace mine but couldn’t 🤦🏾‍♂️ so I had to put the old one back but didn’t use the inch-lb torque wrench. Now found out the oil is leaking after a ride 😭 please help!

Does your gasket need replacing? Also it might be out of place and check toque on bolts.

@@TonysGarage gasket didn’t need to be replaced. I just received the inch pound torque wrench today and I’ll check the torque on bolts. Should I worry about the oil level?

How much leaked? You can visually check the level with the derby cover off.

I have had that torque wrench for years🤣😂. Any wrench in foot pounds will work just fine. You will also need one in inch pounds. Should be a bunch on Amazon. Thanks for watching🤣😂
