wow. really well done. instant info without a ton of rambling and promo at the start, and the audio is really well done which, sadly is rare in lighting related videos. Dialog is clear and balanced, and the music isn't pounding overtop of the dialog, and isn't ramping up and down unexpectedly at face melting levels...props to the crew!

Is there a light that you would recommend as a “source four lite” type of light?

I really hoped you would bring something more substantial to the conversation. And sorry to correct you but a lot of the things you said are absolutely wrong. Beams often get moving gobos, it is just a matter of looking around and going for n upper level fixture of a reputable brand. Beams often incorporate focus (not as good or as precise as a spot, but still there). Beams are often very good being dimmed (again, not as good, but it works just fine). And you can use a combination of a zoom put of focus, a rotating prism (or 2 if possible), an oddly shaped gobo also rotating and the frost effect to make a spot/wash pattern for something like a dancefloor or a general wash light in a scenario. That said, I agree with applications, but I would go more detailed on that topic. Beams are best suited for a light show designed to be apreciated in the air (like a laser in the haze). Spot lights are better suited to be apreciated in the surface they impact (a wall, a speaker, performance, table or similar). they can both be used in several applications and they often overlap. Spectacular gobos and amazing presenter highlighting are the key strenghts of a Spot fixture. Long distance, sharp beam in the air and amazing light outputs for colours are the strengths of a beam pattern fixture. Personally, I've used both in overlaping situations. I've used Beams for speakers when Spots are not available and they often dont mind the lack of a very well defined circle in the stage. I've used beams for brides in their first dance plenty of times and they are often amazed with the effect they get by using a beam with a prism, slow rotation and a slow mooving gobo (4 beams at the same time with some nice fixed LED wash lights make for amazing results). And I've also used Spots to create light shows in teenager parties with some haze and gobos and they dont mind it at all (no, the beams still perform better, but not that much in the eyes of a client). I would actually advise to get a pair of each and maybe a couple of wash moving heads too in order to have a complete set to play with. You really need at least 4 movers in your arsenal and at least double the fixed wash LED fixtures. If you cnt provide that, you are missing on the bigger deals. And if you are trying to produce live music spectacles, double the number. At least 8 movers and 16 fixed, But you can ditch the wash movers and use more Beams. Spots are for the artists, Beams are for the public to apreciate the production. Trying yo narrow down what you need to start as mobile dj? get 8 cheap Led fixtures in RGBW to throw at walls or other stuff and get 2 Beams with rotating gobos and rotating prisms. Then you can add a pair of Spots and start selling the nice bridal gobos (you want a fixed fisture for that, but you can d whatever you want). And put them high (7 ft high is perfect for any gig). Once you pay for all of that, double it based on your needs. I recomend to go for kaleidoscopic beams, but that is just me). And add more fixed LEDs. You will never regret having 32 or more of those. You can sell them appart from the main package to highlight the arquitechture of a place or as fillers in production for spectacles or as blinders...
