Bobo hydrangea is adored by each and every gardener who has planted it. There are so many blooms in the summer on this 3 foot tall plant you never see the foliage until next spring. Enjoy watching these white blooms age to an antique pink in the fall. Hardy to zone 3 too!

I cannot recommend Bobo hydrangeas enough. We planted 2, 1 on each side of the front of our garage. They get morning sun with some afternoon shade and they are thriving after 3 years. Covered with flowers that do not flop, emerge white, then turn light green and the a beautiful rosy pink in the fall. They are relatively compact (about 3 by 3 ft) and make a great flowering shrub for the front of the house where you want some interest, but nothing that gets too large. You won't be sorry.

All of our plant information pages have this information. Here is the one for Bobo, The range depends on if you want the plants touching each other, or if you want space between them. Measure from the center of each plant. Hope this helps! www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/bobo-panicle-hydrangea-hydrangea-paniculata

Will 3 to 4 hours of the morning sun be enough for this plant to put on a full bloom?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube
@ProvenWinnersYouTube 7 жыл бұрын
You will notice that the blooms will be smaller, and they will have a more airy appearance, but yes, it will still bloom, just not as full as what you see in pictures on our social media pages. In full sun the blooms completely cover the plant.

I bought several of these Bobo H's a couple of years ago - they were covered in flowers at the garden center and I have not gotten more than 1 bloom per plant since. They get about 4-5 hours of late morning/early afternoon sun. I cut them back either late fall or very early spring as I was instructed and I use a slow release fertilizer (Rose Tone) in the spring. It's now late July and many of the bottom leaves are turning yellow and dropping even tho the rest of the plant looks vigorous and healthy. I have good soil and the soil feels moist but not soaked. They are performing so poorly (over 4 years) no matter what I try and I don't know what I am doing wrong since they get such rave reviews. I live in Cleveland, Ohio. Help!

4-5 hours of sun should be sufficient - not ideal in Ohio, but sufficient. Our suspicion would be deer. They particularly love the flower buds and are able to nip them out with no noticeable trace. Please send a message to feedback with a few photos, and be sure to choose shrubs under CATEGORY. www.provenwinners.com/feedback

I am in zone 7. My bobo is not showing buds yet. Is that normal? My limelight and little lime have buds. Any thoughts?

How much water would you recommended for newly planted Bobo Hydrangeas?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube
@ProvenWinnersYouTube 3 жыл бұрын
This depends on several factors, where you live, how much sun the plant is getting, and your current temps. Hydrangeas like a very good amount of water, but when they are young the root system is not developed to consume much at a time. Try watering each morning, water right at the base and then water in early evening if the plant is drooping. Try to keep the water off the foliage, and get it right to the root system. Reach out to us on our feedback site if you have any problems. Thanks for asking, Bobo is a personal favorite!

I need tips on this plant. I am in zone 9b and I purchased 2 from proven winners because It was labeled zone 3-9. I do have them in almost full shade and about an hour of early morning sun. They have been doing great and I have been watering them daily because they do recommend them being in moist soil at all times and I am in a very very hot weather area. It is also humid down here but not extremely humid. What do you recommend i do to make them bloom Year to year? I don't get cold winters at all so I doubt I'll lose foliage. I need good detailed tips because I am new at gardening and it's my first time with hydrangeas. Love Laura! She is the reason why I started gardening 😀

Vita my guess is they are not getting enough sun. On the tag, and on our website we do indicate this is a full to part sun variety. If you could move them to an area where they would get at least a half day sun that would make a big difference.

Proven Winners thanks but you think it's a good idea given the fact that even hibiscus and even aloes get sun damage here where I live. I'm zone 9b and we have moderate humidity so the leaves literally get crispy lol it is so hot down her. We reached 113 last week

My husband wants a dwarf blue hydrangea in my new garden area next to the house. I’m getting discouraged. It seems all the hydrangeas are pink or white. Can you help me?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube
@ProvenWinnersYouTube 4 жыл бұрын
It is hard to advise you accurately because much of this is dependent on where you live. We do have blue hydrangeas in our line, or there are hydrangeas such as this one that you can turn from pink to blue, and that is detailed at the bottom of this page. www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/abracadabra-orb-bigleaf-hydrangea-hydrangea-macrophylla For our blue hydrangeas please check out the hydrangeas on this page and read the details at the bottom before purchasing. If you have additional questions call our office at 815-895-8130. Barbara French , it's a panicle hydrangea so it blooms on new wood. Some prune them fall, others late spring, early winter.
