I was stuck in a migraine loop that lasted almost 2 months. I was bedridden. Unable to eat, barely drink, sound was excruciating. It was a nightmare. I went to the hospital a couple of times and got the migraine cocktail. Tried magnesium in many different forms, numbing shots in the back of the head, prednisone which was another nightmare to be on, butterbur with feverfew.. Nothing worked. I was about to give up. My wife recommended CBD as a tincture because it helped her with her psoriatic arthritis symptoms before she was diagnosed. It was $100 for a vial but at that point I'd give my left arm for relief. I got the Iovia 20:1 2000mg tincture. I took .25ml as I have a low tolerance to medications in general. That evening, I was up moving around, had a slight appetite and felt the most relaxed I had felt in 2 months. It took me out of the loop with minimal side effects. I continued to take that amount for a week and was able to start living life again.

I hate this part of the world. I'm Nordic and I've suffered from migraines since I was 7. when I turned 20 I started having migraines every other day and I got my hands on cannabis for the pain relief and the nausea relief. It really helped but I needed the frequency to go down also so I got in contact with a doctor and she gave me pills that worked. I kept using cannabis when needed. I earlier this year told my psychiatrist this and hell broke lose, I'm now about to loose my job and if I had kids they would have taken them away. Not once was I listened to when I said I used it to medicate myself not get high, the doctors won't even believe it brought me any relief because cannabis is a drug and drugs are bad. I'm now forced to quit and piss for the rest of the year otherwise I won't be eligible for a Psychiatric evaluation (im depressed). I'm this close to giving up.

Never had migraines in my life and had my first two in my final week of exams - extreme stress - I tried about every over the counter pain med and anti nausea drug, and let me tell you it all pails in comparison to weed. It completely takes the pain and nausea away. It’s a life saver I cannot believe this has been restricted for so long. Glad to be a Canadian, and just have it recreationally I never understood it to be such a powerful medicine as well.

It's great to hear so many people saying this works. I have had migraines twice a week for most of my life. Started when I was 6. Sometimes it levels me and the pain keeps me in bed all day. Sometimes I throw up. Sometimes I just can't do anything. I really want to try CBD or marijana but I don't even know how to get a it. CBD seems extremely expensive and unregulated.

CBD is not strong enough to give you the effects you are looking for, THC gives you the head high masking the migraines, calming you. Once you start smoking you will build a tolerance and eventually won’t get sleepy while smoking but it’ll still mask pain with the head high. This coming from someone with daily migraines and cluster headaches since I was 11, due to TBI

@@sleepisthecousinofdeath7395 I too had a severe TBI since a kid. Now my life is almost totally ruled by TBI symptoms. Worst are headaches every single day, tinnitus and bad insomnia. Doctors prescribe me opioids and other pain killers but I cant use opioids every day, its just digging a grave for yourself. Even my neurologist told me it would be safer to use cannabis but in my country doctors cant prescribe it. Im considering moving to a country where it is legal, at least part of the year. It doesnt make any sense to live for me anymore, its just constant pain and insomnia, so Im pretty much willing to do anything to make my life worth living.

Considering most of us migraines are on life long drugs anyway. Why not ones that have been proven to work ? I’ve had migraines since about 1975. Imitrex was a game changer ! And I figured out the thc trick by accident in the early 90s. Especially for the nausea and vomiting . It’s calming and that alone decreases pain.I’ve had them since childhood with aura , my father ,brother ,and all of my children that have chronic migraine . I’m on preventives .

After the aura THC makes my migraines worse. On the tail end when the headache is beginning to subside then can be helpful. I find Imitrex to be the most effective medication for my migraines

After using cannabis , does it only masks the pulsing effect over the migraine duration, or does it helps make the migraine occurance actually go away? Thanks for your response in advance to whom ever you are.

I have been using for about 3 weeks now. I have terrible migraines and have tried tons of medication over the years. So far I have with my body found edibles don’t really help much but vaping has has kept my migraines and my dull headaches at bay. So far I have had one migraine and two headaches that I just treated by smoking more. Unlike before they don’t last days they are gone in a day

Smoking tobacco or cannabis and or comsumption or absorbtion can cause them. Cannabis is a depressant which may help with headaches because it will suppress the CNS and Nerological pathways. Tobacco is a CNS and Neurological stimulant and Vascular stimulant which can increase stimuli.

I started out having them sporadically when I was 4. Fast forward to today at age 35 and I have chronic daily migraines. I wake daily with a headache and more times than not, it turns into a hemiplegic migraine. I once had a migraine everyday for 4 months until I got relief. I dropped to 89lbs and nearly died twice from dehydration. I was in an out of the hospital 8 times and most of those times I was kept at least 2 nights. Marijuana I the only thing that has helped and i hate the taste and smell of it. Take care of yourself. Most people's migraines get smaller as they age m,ine got worse.
