If you loosen the tension knob down all the way. then spin the middle section around to lock. That will get rid of the pan on the bipod. Nice rifle.

For historical accuracy SPR stands for special purpose receiver not special purpose rifle. The SPR was a designated marksman rifle. Designated marksman is a person and some where issued the SPR.

The whole “build” thing is kinda ridiculous. Do you build a LEGO set? Yes. If you take an engine block and buy a bunch of parts off the internet and put it together did you build the engine? Yes. The term doesn’t insinuate that you forged the metal or machines the receiver, but in some cases when building a rifle there is some machine work required. But not every case. Sometimes a “build” is just a synonym for assembling from parts. Trying to own people on terminology is just a vanity flex for folks in the know. Instead of flexing on each other, “build” each other up.

To stop the pan feature back the knob out all the way and spin the bipod 180 degrees then tighten the adjustment knob. Then you'll only have your cant adjustment available to you and you can pretty much look it out by tightening the knob all the way.

I much prefer the magul to the harris bipod. As your buddy said, the pan and tilt features can be locked out. I locked out the pan but I like the tilt when the tension is set correctly.

Definitely check out Arisaka 18650 with Malkoff EX2L head on it for the best light for the money while maintaining modularity. Comes in almost 100 clams lower than Modlite and is literally just between OKW and PLHv2 on performance

As a cloud fanboy myself I appreciate modlites and any other weapon light. Got a cloud because it seemed simple and indestructible.

Do you think the illuminated vs non illuminated is worth it for the spr Leupold scope 3x18?

Have you used illuminated Tremer 3? Trying to decide if I should hold out for restock or just pick up leupold’s non-illum Mark 5HD. My experience the illumination only helps me during daybreak or dusk, and I’m not certain how much of the Tremer 3 reticle actually illuminates. If it’s the entire Christmas tree then I don’t want that..

I have an AR-15 completed just now, I built the AR 5/6 years ago and I installed an 18” custom barrel that sat in my safe for 5/6 years not knowing what to do with it. DMR? Not my generation's saying - Vietnam veteran. I installed Vortex PST 2-10x FFP/MOA, TRIGGER tech trigger AR Diamond, and butt stock RAPS. Now, where to go or what to do with this rifle? A word about the selection of scope: old eyes don't see too well, which is why I put the Vortex 2-10x scope parallax adjustment that 1-6, 1-8, and 1-10x don't have, touch all the bases so to speak. Next, maybe a suppressor? Griffin Armament?

I'm always curious about why people would still use a 16-18 inch barrel even on a SPR build. Wouldn't you want to get a 22' or even 24' inch barrel with a solid twist so you can milk all the velocity you can out of your 75-77gr 556 match ammo?.

if an SPR is not a DMR then why is the designated marksman issued a MK12 SPR in a Marine line platoon......RECCE rifles are also SPR's/DMR's, it is the modern name for the weapon of the designated marksman who also gives quick reconnaissance / accurate over watch capabilities to the marine infantry squad???

Then if we are just assembling, why are we paying companies like SOLGW or BCM big bucks, they are essentially doing the same thing as we are (meaning they don't machine anything), they assemble guns and take measurements to make sure things are in spec.

Build, assemble, install all are fairly interchangeable words unless you really want to get semantic about the exact meaning. Now if you were to say you bought parts to manufacture a rifle then I would question your choice of words. Don't worry about the people who try to fault you using the word build, they are confused and I'm pretty sure they've never taken or been educated in the branch of linguistics and logic concerned with meaning even though there is subtle shades of meaning.

Building and assembling are virtual the same thing. Only a slightly different use here. But who the hell cares, assemble and shoot the hell out of it or bulld one and shoot the pics out of it.

You're building unless it's a complete upper and lower and then you're assembling. I don't understand why people play this semantic game when it comes to firearms. When you're building an engine or anything else you don't hear people saying "I assembled an engine". This argument has quickly become a pet peeves.

dudes run modlites cause they are one of the best lights out there. strong and lightweight. i dont know about cloud because im not gonna put a light on my rifle that weighs as much as my rifle. modlites arent selling because of social media,they are selling because they have changed the entire game. cloud lights are giant and im not going to put something that big on my blaster and try and run through an objective just like a sniper wouldnt put something that heavy on their rifle and have to lug it around on a mission. you sir are the one who sounds like a cloud fanboy.

I also get annoyed with the misuse of the "build" term. I constantly see guys joining a finished upper and lower together, throwing on a brake, a scope, and a sling and calling it a build. I get the connotation that goes along with it. But buddy, you didn't build anything.

I like such a rifle, but what in your real life could be a reason for shooting at 1000yards? (Ethical hunting is out of question at that distance even much bigger caliber would be used) So what in a real life could force you to shoot at 1000yards and even do that from inside of your car ? I just can not magine any real good reason....

what are u talking about? that rein light cost more than my modlite with okw head and 18650 battery. modlite is the best thing going, u can keep those heavy ass boat anchor cloud lights.😂
