What a great tutorial and an innovative modeling technique! Got to run to Home Depot NOW! This reminds me of a technique I used on a few masks I made in the mid 70's, only it was much more time intensive and not nearly as durable: I used cotton batting bandage material soaked in plain gelatin, refrigerated the mask for a couple days to let it "congeal" and dry out a bit and then air dry for several days more, then painted and glued fake fur with aliphatic resin (white glue.) I purchased the single original Werewolf mask kit as a mail order out of Texas, but started making my own mummy and Star Trek Salt Vampire on my own from the same techniques. Each used the cheap and plentiful plastic vampire fangs and bloodshot eyes from the 5 and dime or convenience store. Back then I thought I wanted to grow up be Jack Pierce or Dick Smith, lol.

I build an eva foam helmet first, then build the mask on top of the helmet. They all start as a Red Hood helmet from DC comics. This way the mask is guaranteed to fit snug and comfortable. Plus, it's easier to get back off the head form.

for most of mine, I do that also, but I dont on these cause it adds a step- the heat gun allowing the foam to strength again also makes it not too bad for removal.

Maaaan, I know I can learn from you whenever you come up to teach the WoT crew, but I so wish I had the ability to come down to Texas and just work with you for a week. A dude can dream. Wonderful work as always, Allen. You never fail to inspire!

Great video and result! A barrel swivel on each end of the line and a second piece of line cinching the two swivels would make tightening easier. Shrink tube on the line connections help might keep the noise down. Put a V in the hubs cut the bike tire and attach it inside out so that it makes a U. Just screw into the rim but evenly. Two pieces of rope or wire might help to better define the U channel closer to a V, a piece circling each side of rim, under the rubber with the screws in the middle. Rubber door weather stripping might work. Magic Tape is always your friend. You could also add a roller or two , a tensioner to keep the line from jumping off the sides.

this is great info- but are you referring to something in this video or another?

@StiltbeastStudios I honestly can't tell if that's sarcasm. Am I just old? Or is their a clinical diagnosis to be had?🤔

I am glad I discovered your channel. I made a stilt costume back in 2016 for halloween and I have been using it every year since. It was a fun project and it is very satisfying to creep people out with. Your videos are great and I will definitely be trying out this technique on a new mask.
