This is brilliant, I’ve been painting since 76 and I’ve now learned I can purchase “Cam Cleaner” for my Satajets to clean all that old built up paint off, one of your best videos yet thanks team Astill 👍😎 proves we keep learning every day, invaluable information much appreciated 🤩👏

Another great episode Howard, alot of very useful and interesting information. I've just got a quick question, what type of grease do you recommend using if you can't find the Sata type? Regards John.

Just google it, there is plenty of options on line.

Astill Design, loving your builds especially BossXC and the Panel Van build. I have recently restarted the build on my TD Cortina with this going to be the first restoration I have attempted. I'am probably going to make a few mistakes on the way, though hoping nothing major. I have started to paint strip the engine bay, and was recommended to use some Upol 1k acid etch primer as the first coat of paint and have painted about half the engine bay. I was always planing on using epoxy over that and then the colour in 2k, mistake 1 on my part is that I have found out that I shouldn't mix 1k and 2k paint. I have been told that I will need to sand down the paint and to aleast get 50% of it off. Just wondering if I should just go back to bare metal or just 50%. If you had received a car from a customer and this was the case what would you do or recommend the customer does?
@AstillDesign2 ай бұрын
First check the data sheet for the products you have and see if they are compatible. If they’re not then back to bare metal. Normally it’s etch or epoxy not both Cheers H

Hey Howard as always mate, killer content, got a question for you, do you recommend anything in particular to polish and maintain exhaust tips? Stainless steel mainly
@AstillDesign2 ай бұрын
Mothers make a chrome cleaner, that’s been my choice. If it’s stainless a metal polish, mothers, autosol etc

I've got 2 old bangers. 1 x SataJet 3000 Digital 1.4 tip for Clear and 1 x SataJet 3000 1.4 for Basecoat. Brought both brand new when I moved to Perth in 2010 from NZ. Contract smash repair painting. Made good coin. Still have both and used them both just last weekend on a Cessna 421 twin Engine aircraft. Never had to re-kit either gun both still standard. Only thing is the lcd display on the digital has shagged out. Great guns but in the future I'll purchase either 1.2 or 1.3 as they are both so frig'n thirsty material's wise it's crazy.
