Good morning Gary. Good equipment built in your area.

My neighbor bought an 1800 in the 60’s…first one I ever saw. I immediately fell in love, and they’ve been my favorite ever since.

I like the box on the front of the Oliver, good for what ever.

It holds rocks for the dual purpose of clearing your field and adding front weight when doing tillage. The handle on the side dumps the load once you pull over to a rock pile.

Thanks. We had guests arriving for a dinner party so I recorded off the cow cam😅

Fine looking old Oliver.

Thanks. It’s the last of our Olivers. We’ve owned five over the years.

Those old Oliver's are awesome! Looks like the spreader rebuild was a success!

It’s working great so far.

I see Gary has been here, I agree. The Oliver gives it a old time look. I remember seeing them at Machinery Hill when they were new. I haven't been to the State Fair since they disconnected Machinery Hill. Raining here now. Thank you Dave.

Same here! Machinery Hill was the best! Made the best State Fair I’ve seen.

I figured we got about 5" of rain through the month of April.... 4 days into May and were at .60" and raining. ....No field work here for a while yet......I bet it was fun to saddle up the old 1755 in work it a bit....Glad the spreader worked good, no better feeling than a sucessful rebuild. Thanks Dave.

Thanks. I should have time to get that tire changed out soon. Need to finish painting the hitch too.

Good morning Dawn and Dave ☕☕☕ Looks like Gary has taken over the comments section. He might have 4 comments, but I'm still the second person in 👍😎

Welcome to all.

One thing I have never gotten to do is to drive an Oliver.

Must be plenty around your farm. Best part about them is the sound of that big Perkins or Waukesha six working.

The only Oliver hours I have was the neighbor's 1650 gas. I mostly ran hay loads home with it.

We never had any Oliver’s in the neighborhood when I was growing up.

A few tractors. Lots of plows. Oliver built good equipment.

I’m surprised with the factory at Charles City Iowa so close.

@@Rollinghillsfarmsmn , yes Dave . About the same distance as Waterloo from here. There were a couple Minneapolis Moline tractors, Allis Chalmers, and tons of the old Fords. Almost every farm around had an 8N, 9N, or a 2N I still have our 9N All the rest were either Farmall or John Deere

Need to get the duals on that old girl!
@Rollinghillsfarmsmn3 ай бұрын
I may have to if it keeps raining 😅. It looks boss with the duals and really cuts compaction.

No spreading going to happen here. It's wet. Oliver sounds good. 👍

Yeah it’s wet here but I’m hoping to disc tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with the old Ollie's! Very few around here, but I've always liked them. A good heaping load is the best test. One thing I've noticed, where we have mud season for 6 to 8 months, we avoid driving in it.. Seems the rest of the country tries to see how far they can make it.. lol. You have us beat on rain for the month. 1.25" as of this morning. I still have a feeling that we're going to have a dry summer.. but right now, it looks like we'll have a decent hay crop 🤞
@Rollinghillsfarmsmn3 ай бұрын
That’s why we have 4wd😅! Dawn was dragging the belly of her tractor thru the mud yesterday feeding bales and I fell this morning(my boot got caught in clay). My clothes are in the washer as I write this😅.

@@Rollinghillsfarmsmn 🤣😂🤣😂been there! Lift toe first. Doesn't mean you will get out, but that's what they say breaks the suction. It actually works, sort of. FWA is great, until the tires no longer touch the ground.
@pinesedgefarm11553 ай бұрын
Dang, even air-conditioning! Watch out that you don't bend the end gate on the spreader with it partly open. That's a good idea to harrow after. Looks like a successful calving season for you.
@Rollinghillsfarmsmn3 ай бұрын
I didn’t realize it would bend. I use the gate to moderate discharge along with speed to give even coverage. Is that bad idea?
@pinesedgefarm11553 ай бұрын
@@Rollinghillsfarmsmn it makes perfect sense, just something to be aware of. Your's is pretty dry and powder like so probably don't have to worry much.
@raincoast90102 ай бұрын
I was wondering if you were going to get the harrow out and then you did. Good job!
