Chris, I love your work,as well as your work ethics. I live in western S.C. and wish that I could afford your services. Erosion is a huge problem here, and your expertise would be appreciated here. I'm a disabled Merchant Marine Captain and could never afford you, but as a former farm kid, I can really see your skill, and detail work. Thank you Chris.

in previous posts there have been discussions along the lines of "why do I spend HOURS watching these when I have no knowledge of the profession?" For me, it is the amazement of watching a skilled professional doing amazing work. It's like every machine is an extension of his body that he moves nimbly and gracefully. It is reassuring to know there are still professionals who care deeply about doing things the right way and going the extra mile to make sure the job is done the way it should be. Chris is affable and I enjoy his thinking out loud monologues. I'm never sure whether he is really explaining to us what he is doing or just talking it through to himself and using the video audio as an excuse for verbalizing his thoughts. It is charming. Based on his interactions with others (which are often hilarious) I see him as a nice man with a quick wit, which makes it all work as a great way to pass my time. I also enjoy watching for the flashes of his plumber's crack when he's getting in and out of his seat. (Just checking to see if anyone is reading this far.) I enjoy watching how to do things that I have no experience doing. I would not want to live with him. I bet he is constantly rearranging the furniture around his house and probably has sophisticated machinery that does the moving. You are great Chris!

And I thought I was the only one waiting for that sneak peak of the plumbers crack. Naw in all seriousness I like to look at his face especially his sexy blue eyes.

You made a silk purse out of a sows ear, but I would hate to have my dream home on the side of a hill. Open up the front door then take a look outside, and tell us what you see. A hill! The backyard is almost as bad as the front.

Planning is the most important piece and it’s obvious you’re overqualified for dealing with anything.
@mikeznel60482 жыл бұрын
Most of it is simple common sense really. You can't bake a cake until you ore heat the oven and you have no reason to pre heat the oven to bake the cake if you don't mix the batter and put in a cake pan. You can't butter the Pam if the cake batter is already in the cake pan. And finally, you can't eat the cake until you make it. Same with construction. Lots of forethought but it's pretty simple to plan.

That driveway looks a lot better than I anticipated. I knew you would do good work, that was no question, but you can only do so much sometimes. That’s still the case here, but I can see there being some great flower beds/gardens. I worry about the drainage Andre the front porch a bit as I couldn’t see it and often somewhere like that is an area contractors take shortcuts and it may be pretty rough or sloping the wrong way. Just being thorough. I have built too many buildings to not have seen that happen. If you, Chris, did the work up against the foundation, then no worries!! Haha. I would let that gravel pack in nice and hard. Determine if that enough driveway, maybe have RV parking beside the garage?? Anything is possible with retaining walls,,,, haha. Then pave everything that Chris covered today. I live in the mountains off of a “oiled” road and I have paved my full driveway from that road to my garages and shop!! Nice to clear in the winter. I have a gas powered 36” rotary broom to keep the asphalt clean (I am thorough) and a notable speed bump about 30 feet in past the gate. If you come almost to a stop, your tires open up when rolling slower and shed a lot of stones. My buddies hated that until they knew why and many of them have done similar things. Texas gates (cattle guards) work really well also. Not so great when one shows up with one of their Ferraris or Lamborghinis. I don’t have anything like that. I have a Bronco Badlands!! Heh heh. I do have a 67 Chevelle that is exactly as it was from the showroom except for radial tires and only has just over 40,000 miles. I’m the second owner. That’s my “Ferrari “!! On to the next job good sir!! What a huge improvement you did here!

Loved seeing the horse in the background, he nods his head a few times in approval of your excellent work, as did I. I have seen homes built like this many times, usually, it's to add a basement structure out of the hillside and the home is on top of the hill. In this case, it was a bit farther down the slope a bit. Thanks for another soothing evening and look forward to seeing the pond work as well. Note: I would have designed the garage to be on the OTHER side of the house, so you drive off the street and straight to the garage, that way no need to drive in front of the house. Instead could have put a very nice walkway from the driveway to the front steps.

Without any rain gutters and downspouts visible... a French drain to the downhill side of that garage might have been prudent. I'm sure Chris sloped the driveway properly....but that's plenty of roof runoff in heavy rainstorms hitting that gravel. Maybe gutters are on the plans? 🤔 Cheapest fix... a gutter across the garage front. jmo 😉

Why didn’t the change the hand of the house? Would have been better with garage on the other end. Also, The electrician did not do the owner any favors with the lights centered over the garage doors. Best location is centered between them and have 4 of them. More light on the drive lane and when backing up at night, you have a reference in your mirrors to know you are centered.
