Precisely why I will forever say fnaf3 was the perfect ending to the original story (if anyone asks: i don't consider fnaf 4 to be an ending, it is a prequel, that finally explained the why the purple guy even became a thing perfectly, in my eyes fnaf 4 complements fnaf 3's ending even more because it makes me hate the purple guy even more which makes the fnaf3 ending even more satisfying.)

I've always thought that Springbonnie was actually just called Bonnie, with the first name being used by the employees to talk about the suit with spring locks. Fredbear was replaced with Freddy due to the accident. But Springbonnie was never related directly to the accident, so they just changed the color of the suit without much rebranding. By the time the name of Springbonnie was tainted with Afton legacy, most people probably forgot about him or they don't consider them the same character anymore.

When you think about it, it's like springbonnie got his revenge. William used him to appeal to kids, hide his identity and true personality, and then relied on him for protection from the ghosts. In a way, springbonnie turned on him when he was needed the most and from then on became a physical representation of William's mind: rotten, twisted, disturbing. When William hunts you in fnaf 3, he can't pretend to be a cute friendly character anymore, or even an innocent man. He has to evade your defenses if he wants to get you. And becoming springtrap has robbed William of almost all his humanity. Also, an interesting detail I noticed is that when springtrap attacks from the left, his eyes widen and look you over very briefly. I wonder if it's expression of excitement and thrill, or if it's applied to modern lore, surprise when he recognises Michael or Henry.

Also fitting considering the other animatronics straight up jump at you and scream; like angry tantrum-throwing toddlers, as they’re possessed by dead kids that want their revenge, whereas Springtrap’s jumpscares in FNAF 3 are slow and a lot more calm, as he’s possessed by a full grown man that, although way more mature, has sinister intentions.

God, if Springbonnie ever gained consciousness as it's own animatronic, and fused with William the same way in canon, he really would be the first victim. Being used as a serial killer suit but unable to stop it because of your rudimentary programming, used to kill the kids you were meant to entertain and be friends with. Horrible. Honestly, same with Fredbear and the bite, gaining his own consciousness as soon as the bite happens, separate from the child but completely unable to fathom what had happened. Regardless of if Fredbear had the crying child's exact consciousness or had his own like Baby did with Elizabeth. If Henry made William that jealous from making animatronics that had heart and love in them, with potentially all a little soul and emotion, then the potential of SpringBonnie and Fredbear having memories or consciousness is legitimate possibility. Especially with the Mimic being potentially from even before Fredbears, even if rudimentary it's still a soul of sorts. Robots have the same memories as people, and agony can make the shadows potentially, so like there's several hints to souls and life being in humans, animals, plants, literal blobs of shapeshifting emotion, and robots in this franchise. I love how both off the wall and existential the series is, even in the implications that are basically glossed over every game with just enough answers to keep us hooked. They got a system going, like the Pokemon Company's three year cycle and steadily changing creature design conventions.

You know I see people joking about how Springbonnie is just his fursona but there is some truth to the statement. I know some furries that act completely differently when they wear their fursuit just out of the confidence boost they get. While I'm not one for fursuiting myself, I do get the same feeling when I start writing. Of course with that said the whole concept of not knowing who is under that costume is pretty disturbing... if only that wasn't true in the real world.... Anyway a personal theory I have is that Afton used springbonnie as a form of escapism which eventually got to his head with the success he got from the restaurant. He genuinely believed that people loved him and because of this his ego shot through the roof. Of course when he starting offing kids and got away with it, it just confirmed everything he thought about himself, he was unstoppable. Of course that left him with one desire, to become springbonnie and we all know how that turned out. I view it like a wish from a monkey's paw. Of course that is just me mostly head canoning, but I personally believe it is a far better story then the whole, vengeful father thing people try to stick William as. I genuinely believe that Afton would be a great character if they leaned more into the idea that he is obsessed with the character he's made and wants others to feel the same way he does. To never struggle or face hardship. Maybe even be the family he always wanted, not the broken and divided one he has already. But what do I know. I'm just a furry.

Also I had this idea of what if the springbonnie programming could temporarily take over and causes springtrap to act like how the animatronic was made to be.

William does elaborate on the whole 'risking it with the springlocks' thing in TSE, to be fair. When he's monologuing to Carlton about how he survived the unsurvivable (and given he's described as having lost most of his weight since and seeming kind of dead when not interacting with someone, maybe he did die in that suit and just kept his body running through possession or something), he explains that a suit left to the elements for years will indeed trip on a hair-trigger, much like that mentioned in FNaF 3, but one kept maintained - such as William's own golden Bonnie suit, there - is fairly safe. And, indeed, he takes hits and moves a lot but the locks remain firmly locked, which makes more sense than the ramblings in 3 for an item that is going to be worn by a dancing performer around hyperactive children in a place serving food and drink. The suits described in 3 are likely quite run-down, given new people are having to be trained for this regardless, hence their significantly heightened danger. Charlie has to reach in and manually open one of the locks, which seems to trip the whole thing by a sort of rube-goldberg-esque system in the joints or something, which makes a bit of sense given the joints do need to lock together properly. The main stupidity is making these locks spring-loaded to begin with. The crank working both ways would've sufficed.

To me, it's so interesting to realize fans only consider Spring Bonnie as William Afton. When you say "Spring Bonnie", often you will just refer to William Afton using the suit (mainly to bait unsuspecting kids) and not the actual character. Because we know VERY little of Spring Bonnie, as its sheer existence consists of an "unwithered" version of Springtrap. He's just a shell, a husk for William to put on. Ironically enough, Afton *became* Spring Bonnie and not the verse. Although like you said, it's probably something he would enjoy...

I appreciate the Dayshift style Phone Guy. Also, I always figured Spring Bonnie was just an employee moniker to denote that particular version and later Purble Bonnie being a rebrand alongside Freddy, so I'd say modern (purple/blue) Bonnie is technically a different character but shares the same name with William's Fursona.

I think the apperance of Glitchtrap is the earliest design of Spring Bonnie. It is most likely what the "temporary costumes" that phone dude was referring to in FNAF 3. Before the animotronics and springlockes were implemented into the Fazbear company.

William actually came up with Spring Bonnie himself (meaning that Spring Bonnie was His original character), so as the insane person he is it would make more sense as for him to literally see himself as Spring Bonnie, like: it's not: William is real and Spring Bonnie is the discuss. But more of/like: William is the discuss and Spring Bonnie is real. Also there were multiple spring lock suits so maybe we will actually see Spring Bonnie again. But this is why I love Fredbear and SpringBonnie so much, there's so much to them and so many opportunities and theories and speculations about them, 2 characters who were meant to be best friends for life but became worst enemy's for life because of there suits wearer's.

17:04 *Absolutely this* I have hardly ever seen anyone talk about how incredibly insane Glitchtrap is. I guess some people don't like to go deep down into the lore, but (in my opinion it's Afton, you can think it's mimic, I don't really care), he's the most menacing and demented version of Afton like ever, hot take but he creeps me out more than Springtrap. I might write a whole paragraph here but, how he's described in the books.. Wowie. He's very very violent, and only sees his victims as playtoys to mess with their brains and gut their mind from the inside out. Also his voice lines are extremely strange, and felt like I was watching a ring tape. He locks you inside a room, and the way TapeGirl (Vivian in my head cannon), described Jeremy being almost numb and a walking "zombie" if you will, he tortures your mind endlessly with horrendous nightmares and forces you to do things you don't want to do. That being said, Glitchtrap is so so so terrifying.

I’m pretty sure Afton’s Pizzeria Simulator suit was a replacement for Spring Bonnie instead of a reboot design. Remember, Spring Bonnie still had the programming to follow sounds without William’s control. He’d probably want to remove that weakness. The FNAF6 suit is also less bulky and can fit into smaller spaces. I’m not certain, but I like the theory since it would also explain how Springtrap could be walking around on the Special Delivery app while Afton is buried under the Pizzaplex.

My honest thoughts on SpringBonnie: He’s a pretty cool dude with a really cool design and his lore.. That’s pretty much it on the games :/ I wish he had more screentime in the games. He was really only in the fnaf 3 and 4 minigames. (I prefer the fnaf 3 8-bit sprite) But, the Novel is what really made me love SpringBonnie. Thanks to Dave he made the SpringBonnie really cool like stealthy and crafty. The springlock failure was also really cool especially in the novels. Oh yeah, Fnaf world SpringBonnie. I haven’t unlocked him yet because, I just started Fnaf world. But, he does sound very powerful and his design is pretty cool. The movie was pretty cool but, I wished Springbonnie had a lot more screentime. Maybe, a memory of the mci? (I don’t wanna see it in 8-bit. I want to see kids missing by a rabbit man) I’m not really gonna talk about Springtrap or ScrapTrap. But, I will talk about Glitchtrap. And not gonna lie, the glitchtrap design would look strange. I much prefer the generic yellow rabbit. And I would like GlitchTrap to be his own instead of just “springBonnie.” Finally, I’m gonna talk about SpringBonnie from into the pit. For the first FF antagonist, he’s a really good villain. I really like that he was disguised as Oswald dad. I don’t know why he didn’t chase Oswald when he want back to Jeff’s. He got defeated by being hung in the play set. Oh yeah, people didn’t springBonnie. But, what is the origin of SpringBonnie from this story. But, first of all the hall pit. The ball pit is just memory’s of FF protagonists. What about the ball pit in the “into the pit? Well, I personally believe that was Andrews old memory and he died there by SpringBonnie. Anyways, SpringBonnie might just be made of Agony of some kind. Possibly Andrew? Overall, SpringBonnie is a great character who doesn’t actually have that much screentime. Hopefully, we’ll get more appearance of him. (Yes, the suit itself not Springtrap or Nut head)

If he actually said that idk what I'll do. When FNaF 6 came out I started being Very Wrong about the new additions to the FNaF lore, even buying into Miketrap and thinking that Mike was FNaF 3 Springtrap and William was Scraptrap. All because of Scraptrap's design being so inconsistent. If he explains that bad character design by saying "lore reasons"... Might just start making things up tbh and not caring about the lore
